'Absolute liars': Ex-D.C. Guard official says generals lied to Congress about Jan. 6
In a 36-page memo to the Capitol riot committee, Col. Earl Matthews also slams the Pentagon's inspector general for what he calls an error-ridden report.

A former D.C. National Guard official is accusing two senior Army leaders of lying to Congress and participating in a secret attempt to rewrite the history of the military's response to the Capitol riot.

In a 36-page memo, Col. Earl Matthews, who held high-level National Security Council and Pentagon roles during the Trump administration, slams the Pentagon's inspector general for what he calls an error-riddled report that protects a top Army official who argued against sending the National Guard to the Capitol on Jan. 6, delaying the insurrection response for hours.

Matthews' memo, sent to the Jan. 6 select committee this month and obtained by POLITICO, includes detailed recollections of the insurrection response as it calls two Army generals — Gen. Charles Flynn, who served as deputy chief of staff for operations on Jan. 6, and Lt. Gen. Walter Piatt, the director of Army staff — “absolute and unmitigated liars” for their characterization of the events of that day. Matthews has never publicly discussed the chaos of the Capitol siege. . . .

    . . . .

In addition to Matthews’ memo, POLITICO also obtained a documentproduced by a D.C. Guard official and dated Jan. 7 that lays out a timeline of Jan. 6. The D.C. Guard timeline, a separate document whose author took notes during the call, also said that Piatt and Flynn at 2:37 p.m. “recommended for DC Guard to standby,” rather than immediately deploying to the Capitol during the riot.

Four minutes later, according to that Guard timeline, Flynn again “advised D.C. National Guard to standby until the request has been routed” to then-Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy and then-acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller.

Everyone on the call was “astounded” except Piatt and Flynn, Matthews wrote.

Corruption runs deep in the previous regime. That's Michael Flynn's brother too. I wonder what would happen to these traitors in the old days. Aiding and abetting a coup attempt on America

It makes sense for the Biden administration to cozy up so much to the military-industrial establishment in this light. For all we know, the outcome of the next presidential elections in the US may well be decided by whom the US military is going to side with.

The military-industrial complex has always been sympathetic to Right wing authoritarianism.

    You call that an attack?
If thats the best attack the Right Wingers in the USA can orchestrate, you guys are pissies.
I think it is much adoo about nothing by the liberal Dem leaders to create some thought in the media that being conservative is terrorism.
And all of a sudden anyone with the surname Flynn is corrupt.
I have learned now that it is not so much that Dem supporters are as ill informed about their leaders, but that they are all gullable left wing media gluttons frighten that in reality the "Attack of Jan6" was not an attack by the republicans at all, but orchestrated by the FBI, for which there are tons of evidence. Biden and his swampy creatures made a mountain of a molesheap. Even I in another country laughs at this "attack against democracy", when I listen to Biden and Harris making fools of the American people.

The disinformation and threats to democracy and social order are very much ado about something. The Jan 6 mob were manipulated and lied to, and many acted without thinking. Some 600 have been arrested and facing punishment. Many of these folks acknowledge they made a mistake and admit they were following trump. The GOP has not condemned trump or these irrational voters, so they are simply allowing more of this kind of blind political faith, which is dangerous. This is not the best Republicans can do, but they know it is easy to manipulate conservative voters. Let's note the voters decide who they vote for, and Republicans in office who are corrupt and unethical are not to blame completely. The GOP and conservative voters are in a co-dependent toxic relationship, and neither has the wisdom or ethics to get on an honorable path for democracy.

And trump. Must run in the families.

You've learned all this from right wing media that dupes the naive conservative voter with disinformation.

On the world stage Biden is a clown.
In Australia, and South Africa we laugh at him.
There is now a saying in South Africa that we had the stuppidist President in the history of mankind, Jacob Zuma...
But that championship now belongs to the USA!
    :):p:D
China's slave factories loves the Biden Administration,
the Mexican Drug Cartells loves Biden.
    Russia loves Biden!
The Arab oil producers loves Biden!!!
Money laundering corrupt officials loves Hunter's artwork, 500K a piece!!!

Yip, Biden is the one president thats loved internationally.

But if you think the word thinks Biden is an example of what a Leader of the free world should look like...
    ;)

Trump's personal problems are/were indeed legion.
But people might consider focusing upon records, &
not just behavior. Biden has a long record making
Ameristan more oppressive & authoritarian. He's
    been pro-war, pro-civil forfeiture expansion, & pro
    prison (1994 Crime Bill).
He's been very bad for this country. Alas, very few
of my fellow citizens concern themselves with the
origins of our worst laws & foreign policies.
And all these ignant ferriners feting Biden....they can
take a flying amorous leap at a rolling donut.

That is about all Biden can improve on. His own incompetancies.

Wait untill your inflation starts to rise to 8% because of his silly spending, and fuel rises above $6 per gallon.
You will obviously then realise socialism is S***

I have not said he is good for the country, i have said he has improved the world standing of America from a laughing stock.

I do hope that one day America sorts out its political back biting problems.
