Dont feel pity for me please. This is not a rant OP.

But i am done sharing my personal faith and belief, not because i dont want to, but i have no more ways to explain what i believe in, without getting shut up.
I have no restriction toward any other faiths practiced in RF, you are all my friends.

My personal faith is still within sufi teaching, many aspects of Baha'i faith are slowly getting my attention too.
But i have no more energy left to share.

I have peace within me in my private life, but i am struggeling to find peace in RF these days. I honestly dont need discussion or debate anymore.

My wish is to hear more from friends in Baha'i

So, i am sorry if i become a silent voice in RF. Yes i know i said exactly the same before, and did not stay silent. But i have nothing more to share this time. I am happy with my desission to not take part.

I might share other aspect of my life.

This thread is not due to being weak and unwilling to talk about religion or spiritual life. But i want to speak with likeminded religious/spiritual people.

THIS IS IN THE JOURNAL SECTION....NO DEBATE OR DISCUSSION ON WHY I CHOSE TO BACK OUT.

I only just popped into RF and saw this thread.
I have not been posting much here for a long time because of the health issues with my husband, but aside from that I was winding down on talking about my religion here. I do not mind some discussion about what I believe but I have no interest in debating who is right or wrong. I have peace with my religious beliefs and my husband. I have no time or energy for debates because I am completely drained taking care of my husband and all the cats as well as working full time!

I pray for your and your husbands health, and wish you all the best. You have been through a lot of the same in RF as i have experienced, so you understand my choice :)

    There's plenty to discuss outside
of your religion, eg, antique engines.

Yes, and that is my plan, it will be everything from art, travel, cars/Van....and so on, but not about religious discussions or debate.

I think I get it. I've been feeling similarly lately. It seems like everything lately reverts back to the same several topics. The religious discussion tends to be debate(bordering argument) between Abrahamic theist and atheist(please understand I am not criticizing either group), of which also doesn't really tickle my fancy. I don't care how the universe came to be. When I say 'God', I'm not talking about a white haired old dude on a cloud, and when I refer to scripture, I'm talking about a diverse group of literature(and possibly oral stories), not one or two culture's holy books(though I respect any and all scripture as being possibly meaningful to somebody). I just haven't felt any heart in vocalizing much lately. I'm still lingering, reading and throwing frubals on the threads that seem optimistic... but... what else can I say?

I'm not a Baha'i, or even an Abrahamic, but I want you to know I've always enjoyed hearing about your religious experiences and outlooks. I understand why you feel the way you do, and I thank you for what you did share, and that I consider our exchanges valuable. I hope you do continue to share of your life, even if not your spirituality, for I consider you a friend, and its always good to hear what new adventures you're on.

And as I type this with my blue hair dye stained hands... I can't help but wonder if you managed to get this stuff stuck all over your hands, too...

Believe is a personal matter, but I also think one has to enjoy debating the topic and everything it brings with it of good and bad things. Obviously if you don't care to much about that and just want to share your spiritual experiences with likeminded people, then I fully understand your decision.

I assume that the reason you feel like this is due to us atheists? and if that's the case, its probably because we approach things very differently, atheists in general from my experience are not particular good at handling or just running along with faith claims, so a conflict is bound to happen.

Maybe its because one side often argue from a position of certainty, while the other doesn't share this view and unfortunately it seems that almost all discussions end up with atheists vs religion. Whereas you will rarely see religion vs religion for some strange reason.

Not that I want to start a discussion or debate, but just wondering.. do you think your spirituality is compatible with a Mormon for instance, does the "version" of God matter to you?

First of all Bahaullah never had any direct Converse with G-d, I don't find any such claim of direct Converse of G-d in Kitab-e-Iqan, please. Right?
Bahaullah's case is that of Paul who faked a vision and started a new religion that has got nothing to do with Jesus and his teachings, I understand. Right?

    Regards

No one is asking you to shut up. Only to dig a bit deeper. Shouldn't you be going deep inside if you want enlightenment? People asking you to support your claims are not necessarily your enemies. I like well reasoned responses. I am not a fan of shallow ones.

You may find that some of those that challenged you were more on your side than the ones that seemed to support you.

EDIT: In my case @mikkel_the_dane can get my goat sometimes because he does not take facile answers either. That does not mean that he is my enemy. Making me think more makes me a better debater.

I don't think this forum is an efficient avenue for productive discourse.

I see that the majority of threads are usually fairly pointed and emotionally charged, or at least opinionated. Several regular users seem to do nothing but reply mockingly, insultingly, or sarcastically, with the worst interpretations of opposing arguments possible. It's unproductive at best and counter-productive at worst. And you can't report them, because more than one of them are mods.

Many of the other threads are on technical topics that no participant has education or expertise in, including not just scientific fields but a fair bit of theology, economics, statistics, and sociology, too. I get it, Richard Feynman says that part of science is doubting the experts, but to have productive discourse on those topics one first has to be well-oriented in them.

It seems many users here think they are multi-disciplinary polymaths. I'm tired of indulging this sort of thinking. I actually think it might be harmful and I regret playing along with it. This isn't the right avenue for science communication, and decent science communicators are supposed to be held to a higher standard than what we see here.

The best that this discussion board has to offer is a sort of socialization platform, it seems, and I'm just not interested in joining the petty cliques here. I would bet money that there's a semi-secret Discord chat group for users here where they gossip like High Schoolers, likely with more than one forum moderator as a member. Absolutely shameful. I'm completely disappointed that adults conduct themselves like this.

Rarely I get a sincere question on RF about my belief, so I don't have your problem

I think I never asked you. I think I never asked others on RF what they believe.

I wait till they are ready to share, and then I read and I know. I can't remember debating others sharing their personal religious beliefs

Although you are a notable exception, most people just want to talk about God and religion but I have probably said all there is to say on those topics.
