A new type of gun regulation

Face it. Rednecks have the most fun.

How could that possibly go wrong?
Let's face it....white folk who aren't rednecks are devoid of fun.
These smug hipsters dressed all in black while sipping kale
smoothies need help regaining their humanity.

I doubt it will pass but what does everyone think of the McDaniel Militia act?

This house bill, requires that every Missouri resident between ages 18-35 own or possess an AR-15 type rifle.
What is an AR-15 ?

What about homeless people? Where should they keep their AR-15 ?

Where should hospitals keep AR-15's while patients convalesce?

As long as a socialist or 50 can bring a locked and loaded one to every Congressional session...

While I think a law like that is ridiculous, I also think it's refreshing for a gun advocate to drop the pretense that their position has anything to do with freedom.
It is an interesting notion. Does the right to keep and bear arms also include a right not to keep or bear arms?

McDaniel is under no illusions that these bills will ever pass, reported WDAF.

He said he wanted to draft a proposal that “points out the absurdity of the opposite side,” which piles on laws that “add more requirements and barriers for law-abiding citizens.”

He also wanted to “make a point on mandates in general” and admitted that part of his thought process was, “let’s get back at them.”
'McDaniel Militia' Act Would Put an AR-15 into the Hands of Every Missouri Resident

Looks like he is trying to punk the liberals.

And regardless of that fact, I am curious what people think of this type of legislation.

Yet it appears that some conservatives were punked as well, seeing that they thought this was a legitimate attempt at a good idea.

What makes a mandate unreasonable, and why are you against them?

Depends on the mandate and I have a general hostility against someone telling me what to do.

Simple example, Calif is mandating solar power for new homes. Initially sounds reasonable but it's going to put new homes even further out of the reach of the middle class.

Well that really doesn't answer my questions.

You might have just as well said you are against them because you are against them. And the mandates you are against are the ones you don't like.

WWMRD?
Interesting. Love to see some data about firearm injuries in them, both intentional and accidental.

And while we are at it, let's also look at the responsible and safe use and storage of firearms that pro- gun groups have been saying and supporting for years:
NRA Explore | Safety and Education
10 Commandments of Firearm Safety - European American Armory/USSG

You will find nowhere where illegal ownership, irresponsible storage, handling, and intentional misuse is championed

Default position is I don't like any of them. However I accept my dislike is arbitrary and will set aside my dislike in the face of a reasonable argument.

I don't have a set of rules I go by because IMO circumstances are constantly changing so what might seem reasonable in one moment may not in the next. Rules are attachments. :D
