All favoritism is sinful. Any neighbor not loved is another sin. It matters not what the neighbors sin is. It only applies to you and puts your soul at risk.

God plays favorites, Pah. Do you presume to place God into the possibility of being a sinner? If so, then it will be conclusive that you do not know what "sin" means.

Nope, it only applies to humans. As I said, "It only applies to you and puts your soul at risk".

Nope! It's about the scripture that addresses Christians and tell Christians how to act
(bold emphasis added)

Compare this with:

"It (James 2:1-17) has nothing to do with behavior." -Pah (08-25-2006, 05:36 PM)

Also, even though those particular verses relate how we are to treat others, this does not undermine what is considered legitimate in a Christian based society, which is what your thread is about - specifically regarding homosexual marriage. You are the one applying these behavioral laws on a condition that does not exist in a Christian society, and thus you are, at least inadvertently, discussing a topic that concerns society and civil rights as per the Bible.

It is not a question of love. You can love someone and not condone what they stand for at the same time. For example, your friend is really sick and the doctor has prescribed that he eats no sweets. Now, maybe your friend insists that you give him some candy, but out of love you do not give it to him. Love, as far as Christianity (and various other religions) goes, is Divine. It comes from God and God is the supreme object of love. Unless you come to this platform of understanding, your so-called love is likened to giving your sick friend the piece of candy. Are we biased against the "candy-loving sick who should not be eating candy" group of people? You bet your a** we are.
This argument assumes that homosexuals are sick.

Then there is no homosexual marriage, as per God. Case closed.
And that is immaterial to the verses. Heed them or not; it not my soul in jeapody.

Homosexuality just happens to be the example here. That's all. Actually, we are all "sick" because we are all conditioned souls who have left the association of God.

Bottom line, the verses do not show that homosexual marriage is permitted in a strictly Christian based society. So what to speak of civil rights for married homosexual couple?
