Why didn't I think of that before? I'll have to remember that as a rebuttal in a debate.

It's a good thought, but to a capitalist it is the workers who are the parasites feeding off all their hard work and good ideas. They don't make the connection that they are completely obsolete and nothing without employees, they all just think they are John Galt or something.

True. It's just a great jumping off point for an argument in a debate. It will of course need to be expanded upon in the course of the discussion. I recall reading some literature on how egoistic greed and communism aren't mutually exclusive.

Here it is: The Right To Be Greedy: Theses On The Practical Necessity Of Demanding Everything

Now ya know why I am a Communist. I just learned about the Socialist only section right now :D.

I am always reminded by the though that if Jesus was alive right now he would be a Strict Communist. I recommend you read the Communist Manifesto and take a notice of 1 of the 10 planks:

"Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labour in its present form and combination of education with industrial production."

That my friends is Communism and also Jesus

Jesus was definitely a communist. I'm at the point where I think that you can't be a Christian without being a communist. He told us to share with one another. He told the rich man to sell all that he had and give it to the poor. He was a revolutionary religious communist. Ideally, Christians are supposed to live in separate communes and give up all that they own to be distributed among all the people. The early Christians were said to have lived like that in the Book of Acts.

I call this Coffee(Joe) Communism which means socio communism without the political influence or establishment. I believe communist ethics can be established without reconstructing a government.
Frankly, we all know that the government corrupts everything. To this very day there has never been a communist country. All countries that have claimed Communism have not done so. Russia was only communist for 3 years with Lenin in power till that went downhill after he wasted money fighting the Tsar sympathizers.

Nothing Marx has done has gone into fruition and even his ideas are flawed. Good ideas but still flawed. Communism is a pipe dream that has massive faults with it's application.

Do you deny that we are entering the end stage of capitalism? It can't sustain itself. Something is going to have to come after it.

I realize that most Pro-Communist types are blinded by ideology to a point of brainwashing but I'll give it a shot. To portray Yeshua as a Communist is ludicrous. Yehsua taught a religion of personal, not group, responsibility. He used parables of workers earning their wages from prosperous land owners, not robbing or picking the pockets of producers. He never instructed anyone person or group to live in a commune. This came later mostly for mutual enlightenment and safety. Yeshua was apolitical at best ("...render unto Caesar" sort of thing). Yeshua never espoused the idea that one person should take, or have taken, the wealth or fruit of one and give it to another. Yeshua taught that you should quit complaining, get off your butt, and go earn your daily bread. He also taught that corporeal life is no where as important spiritual attainment. Yeshua a Communist? Hardly.

Where does Jesus say that "you should quit complaining, get off your butt, and go earn your daily bread"? Oh, yeah - nowhere. You just made that up. He did tell us to care for the poor, the imprisoned, the needy, etc. He said it was harder for a rich man to go to Heaven than it is for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. He told the rich man to sell everything he had and give what he made to the poor. He told the parable of Lazarus and the rich man; the rich man went to hell for ignoring the poor suffering beggar Lazarus and Lazarus went to the Bosom of Abraham to await Christ's Victory on the Cross so he would be in Heaven now.

Face it - Jesus is not a capitalist. He explicitly told us to share with one another, criticized the rich and ministered to the poor and outcast. "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth". Who are "the meek"? Well, it's not rich people! It's the global poor who are shut out of processes of self-determination and oppressed.

Also, this is the Socialist Only forum, so your little ignorant rant doesn't belong here.

straw man argument communism does not = stealing from land owners. communism does not equal living in a commune. communism does not say to take from one but that you give to all and all give to you

True. Communism means sharing. I notice he ignored the part where Jesus told the rich man to sell what he had and give it to the poor.

Capitalist Christians are living in la-la land and blatantly ignoring the Lord's commands.

Do you deny that we are entering the end stage of capitalism? It can't sustain itself. Something is going to have to come after it.

It keeps being rebooted. It never ends. Inequality rises to ridiculous levels, capitalism begins to collapse, we go into recession or depression, then before it reaches that end stage we restart the whole thing as if the past was just a fairy tale we tell to children. We learn nothing and immediately begins making the same mistakes.

I believed we are going to surpass both capitalism and socialism. America is already a mixed government. We have never been a pure capitalist country in decades thanks to Clinton(that handsome devil).
This is why I call it Coffee/Joe Communism :D. It is just Socialism(Lesser Communism) for a very American palate

Yeshua telling the rich man to denounce his physical possessions to gain spiritual wealth has absolutely nothing to do with any political bent whatsoever. Talk about your strawmen.

Capitalism depends on the assumption that profits will keep growing. It assumes unlimited growth. Eventually that growth will hit a wall. It's like a parasite. It actually reminds me of those aliens from Independence Day.

America actually is more capitalist than it was in the past. Reagan is the one who shifted us more to the right and set the path for the destruction of the working and middle classes. America's working class hey-day was in the '50s and '60s when unions were strong, there wasn't all this outsourcing and there were a lot more benefits. Not anymore.

In Marxist theory, what is after socialism? Communism, duh. :p
