US???

No THAT, sir, is irony.

Do you want me to list the history of the two parties, AGAIN?

You know, where the KKK was the military arm of the DEMOCRATS?
Where the Jim Crow laws were all passed by DEMOCRATS?
Where segregation was defended, violently, by DEMOCRATS?

And where it is DEMOCRATS who now pretend that it's been the REPUBLICANS who have been racist all the time?

Sorry, FH...but I don't buy the hypocrisy charge from Democrats.
So that's why those who identify as white nationalists, those who fly the confederate flag, those who try to keep confederate monuments on government/public property, etc. overwhelmingly vote democrat.

Ohhhh... wait a minute!

But it's adorable how you attempted to pull events from decades to over a century ago as if they reflected anything today.

I have seen no democrat mention it. I have only seen YOU mention it.

and yet, you are the one who decided that the whole thing was tokenism on the part of the Republicans. Does that mean that I can say, with equal validity, that I've seen no Republican mention it, I have only seen YOU mention it?

"Over a century ago?" Wow.

Most of those things happened during my lifetime, FH. Indeed, many of those things happened while I was going to school and college. And while I'm sure you would like to characterize me as being really old and out of things, I'm, er, not over a hundred years old. Shoot, my FATHER isn't over a hundred.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Could you vote for a female Muslim refugee from Iraq for Congress?

Oh, one more thing, she’s a Republican.

Republican Challenger For Ilhan Omar's 5th District Seat Is Also A Muslim Refugee
Yes , if she is a legitimate citizen.

Next comes the platform.

Is she anti-American or pro-american?

Does she support our enemies or our allies?

Unlike Illian Omar, she doesn't support and promote US adversaries that all but want to destroy this country.

it would be interesting to see how the socialist Democrats deal with this one.

Probably in the same way they would tackle any single old white men with a similar set of policies. They would probably attack them as beliquose warmongerer with little respect for a law-based international order (thus preferring a strength-based international order), for her defense of certain nativism and corporatism and lack of policies to actually improve healthcare and higher education access in the US. Sprinkle in some of Malcolm X ideas on minorities here and there and you have the recepe of the defense and offense against pretty much any candidates of the Republican Party.

Circling the wagons by any chance?

It's good to see that it's presently on the defensive. God knows the damage socialist Democrats can do when they're on the offensive.

It's the same rethorical recepe and in tat you win thanks to good defensive or offensive play doesn't make a difference when it comes to the policies that will be applied (or attempted to be applied).

What is your point? Racism isn’t a Northern or Southern thing. To think so is provincialism.

Considering that racism isn't only a psychological phenomenon, but also a systemic and cultural phenomenon, racism can be studied and analysed based on geographical position and culture. It would be an error to view racism purely as a psychological phenomenon.

It's obvious when you pay attention to context. Did you read the post this was a reply to?

I never implied that it was, but the confederacy and segregation obviously were a southern thing. Trying to compare today's dems to southern dems from decades ago is disingenuous.
