The book of Revelation is the revelation of Yeshuah to the entire earth through John. After Yeshuah ascended to heaven, which is when he sat at the right hand of God and given authority to open the 7 seals of Revelation, then he was given the information that is now found in the book of Revelation. Understand.
This really made me think because if Yeshuah is the WORD and promise of God manifested into flesh, then why would he not know exactly everything that God knows.....But at the same time, Yeshuah was a vessel (a temple) and when he was here, he was a vessel of flesh which might be why his knowledge was probably limited...Aaand when you think about "vessels," we can only pour out whatever is in that vessel right?! Until the vessel is filled again.... But vessels can only hold but so much at one time too.....
Anyways, I found this to be very interesting and enlightening. However, I still don't believe anyone really knows when Yeshuah will return. Even if Yeshuah did or does in fact know when he will return (or when the world as we know it will end), when he revealed the prophecies in the book of revelation to John, Yeshuah still only gave hints, clues, and signs to look out for with everything being very mysterious and symbolic. He still did not tell us plainly. As always with his "chosen ones," God a lot of the time wants his "chosen ones" to seek him and thirst for his knowledge and guidance. I believe this is why he talks so mysteriously sometimes and in parables. After all why would we seek him, if we had all the answers?
....In terms of scripture (or the WORD of God), I believe God or Yeshuah only gives us what we absolutely need and the rest is for us to figure out.....So yeah Yeshuah gave us the signs, hints, clues, warnings but not the exact date (or year). The answer to that mystery (one of many), is reserved for God only.
But thank God we know what to look out for.
