Four people, including two doctors, were massacred on Wednesday at a hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, The mass shooter committed murder/suicide.

Tulsa shooting: Four dead, multiple injured in "catastrophic scene" at Saint Francis Hospital - CBS New

This mass shooting occurred after 10 were massacred in the racist mass shooting at a store in Buffalo, New York last month,; and 21 were slaughtered, including 19 children, (edit) *12 days ago* at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, These mass shootings occurred shortly after a mass shooter bought a semi-auto AR-15 rifle to perpetrate their gun massacres, I'd like a ban on the manufacturing of semi-auto weapons for retail as well as a ban on semi-auto weapons imported for private retail in the U.S., this gun control measure prohibiting newly created semi-auto weapons may have prevented the gun massacres that recently occurred in Buffalo, New York and Uvalde, Texas, and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Hopefully, getting rid of newly created semi-auto weapons will prevent would-be mass shooters from slaughtering several people within a matter of minutes,

What is a semi-auto weapon? Further can you link to a page that tells, which weapons were used in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

According to Wikipedia, "A semi-automatic pistol is a type of repeating single- chamber handgun ( pistol) that automatically cycles its action to insert the subsequent cartridge into the chamber (self-loading), but requires manual actuation of the trigger to actually discharge the following shot."

Tulsa gunman bought AR-15-style rifle hours before using it to kill his former doctor, 3 others (nbcnews.com)

I'm not against it but I don't think this should be seen as the one solution to solve the problem of this type of killing.

But an AR-15 is not a pistol. So by your choice of source, you haven't banned AR-15s.
So you want to ban both pistols, rifles and shotguns, which are semi-automatic.
The problem doesn't stop there. For certain weapons you can 3D print a trigger part that allows for full automatic fire. I.e. you buy a legal non-semi- or non-fully automatic weapon and replace the trigger part.
So now you have to build all weapons so that is not possible. That might be feasible, but that can effect the maintenance and durability of such a gun.

I really wish you research what is at play, before you claim to have solved a problem.

Edit. I was in part wrong, but the point stands. You can fairly easily modify a gun to fire differently.
It is a bit hard to do with a true single shot weapon, but not impossible.

Why would anyone other than military need semi automatic weapons?

    I voted yes

I'm wonder if a double action revolver would be considered semi-automatic. If so, that would mean a ban on most firearms.
If not, I'd suspect inventive folks would come up with new ways of rapidly discharging firearms.

There is no “should” or “should not”.

No, I would not support the banning of any of the weapons mentioned in this topic.

I'm not sure if banning such weapons really solve the problem, so I voted "unsure".
There are more important measures to be taken, like plugging the loopholes in background checks, more effective background checks, waiting periods, safe storage, etc. Also the CDC and FBI should be allowed (and mandated) to study and report gun related deaths so that we know more about potentially successful measures and don't have to guess.
All in all I'm for any measure at least as an experiment to see if it works. Maybe the gun crazies are right and there is a way to prevent more deaths without banning firearms? Just do something but "thoughts and prayers" for we know that didn't work.

Something of a difference, one, in general, does not massacre children

Well, other lines of work that involves stopping people doing bad "things" spring to mind. And in rare cases maybe some types of pack animals, which attack humans.

Actually, the consumption of meat maybe even more dangerous, more destructive. Put more children at risk.
But really the point is, IDK if limiting folks to only want they need ends up being a persuasive argument.

Do most people really need a smart phone? No, but they want one. The proliferation of smart phones, also bad for the environment.

Do people really need to procreate. Imagine all of the problem we would solve if we restricted procreation.

Humans value freedom too. It is not as simple as limiting people to only what they need.

I don't see headlines of 19 children slaughtered by a peice of meat. But yes ircseems some meats can cause cancers when eaten often over long periods. So can some non meat foods

That too is my point, no one needs a semi automatic weapon, but it's cool to have one.

Well, for bare needs humans need to live as hunter-gathers. The rest should be banned as it is not our natural way of living. ;)
