2012 = 2045?

Some people believe that the end of the world will be in December 2012.
But our calendar starts with the bith of Jesus which was calculated falsely, so that Jesus was born 33 AD.
Therefore 2012 would acctually be in 2045 or am I wrong?

The myth regarding the end of the world coming on Dec. 21st 2012, as based upon an ancient Mayan calendar is a simple mathematical conundrum, and predates the Christain (Common) Era calendar by a long shot. The Mayans didn't know of the Christ's coming birth, and they would not have likely cared.
Whether our CE calendar misrepresents the birth of this Jesus fellow or is spot on, still does not influence the Mayan multi-thousand year cycle of counting years.
It just happens that the winter solstice of 2012 in the CE (Dec. 21, 2012), was as far as their latest calendar would go to.
There were no dire forecasts for that date. :no: It was simply time for the average Mayan family to go down to the local market, and buy a new wall calendar. :p

Yup. TIME TO GETS A NEW CALENDAR!

Only they felt they had to carve them out of rock for some reason. That's why they went so long between new ones, otherwise it'd be a total pain in the ***.

The end of the world will always be sometime in the future and if it finally does happen it won't be because of any religious prediction or end of any calender.

100% of all prophecies so far about the end of the world have been completley and utterly wrong. People refuse to believe that their prophecies are wrong and readjust them to suit and then when those dates turn out to be wrong they adjust them again. I dont' take anyone seriously who claims the end of the world is eminent. Especially not those that have dates. Even Paul in the New Testament of the bible believed that the end of the world was eminent and that Christ was on the verge of a return. He was wrong.
