I am of the understanding that it is a practice for Eastern Orthodox Christians to pray 150 Hail Marys daily.

What form of prayer does this practice take? Is it different from the Western practice of praying the Dominican Rosary?

The Orthodox do not generally pray the Hail Mary in its western form, and while they do pray something similar to a Hail Mary at times, it's normally not done repeatedly. They do use prayer beads that appear similar to the rosary. These are made out of wool, and used to count repetitions of what is known as "the Jesus prayer" (Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy upon me, a sinner). There is a lot of mystical practice and theology built up around this prayer. It's an area of study by itself within Eastern Orthodoxy.
