11 rules for debating a leftist from Ben Shapiro

The main issue I have is that it frames a debate as a metaphorical battle that has a winner and loser. There is no compromise and the winner takes all. It shows a severe lack of maturity to approach a discussion as a fight, further, a fight you have to win. I suppose my question is what do you get for 'winning'? What do you prove? Is the potential resentment worth it? I don't think it is, maybe Ben Shapiro thinks differently. After all, he has made a career out of it.

Actually, there are a few reasonable points there, I think.
But it treats the entire Left as a strawman, which is as inaccurate as treating the entire Right as one.

Respecting your opponent is important in many ways. It ensures preparation and care.

It is important to take care not to fall towards Shapiro's level of debate.

That said, there are a couple of useful points there, particularly #9.

I thought #10 made sense, although I'd frame it differently.
And, of course, framing itself contributes a couple of points on his list!
