Well, capitalism by definition bases all productive activity on the profit motive, and considers the prospect of meeting human needs in society irrelevant.

Perhaps I should have said amoral.

Accepting that, what system has a better record of morality?

It matters not anyway.
Capitalism & socialism are permanently stuck here in various proportions.

I was only talking about the system in theory. But the docile, democratic socialism practiced in Scandinavia when the left was in power was, in practice, a much more humane system than capitalism.
What about the docile & humane capitalism practiced by Amish?
Naw....you can't say a system is better just because you seek out an example of it turning out that way.
There appears to be no more inherent morality in democratic socialism than democratic capitalism.

Make up your mind. Initially I was talking about the systems in theory. You were the one who asked which system has the better "record of morality." I think systems in Scandinavia which provided a social safety net for millions of people represent a better track record than the species of humane capitalism practiced by what, a few thousand Amish?

You addressed an example of implementation of a system, rather than a theoretical system.
I simply pointed that out.
But the issue is moot, since there are different moralities out there.
I see capitalism as more moral because their is less coercion than in socialism.
I'd bet you prefer socialism because of it's distribution of income.
I might vote for Paul.
You ought not.
