How you feel finding errors in your scripture?

Both Pedaiah and Shealtiel are men, how come Zerubbabbel is the son to both of them? The Hebrew Bible has conflicting texts regarding whether Zerubbabel is the son of Shealtiel or Pedaiah. Several texts (that are thought to be more-or-less contemporaneous) explicitly call "Zerubbabel the son of...

    Contradictions Challenge

This is an old repost from my old website and various places all over the Internet. It's a bit long. The simple answer to this question is that Jesus was actually the Son of God and the natural heir to the Kingdom by miraculous birth through the virgin girl Mary, of David's line, and Jesus was...

Psalm 22 is about David, not Jesus?

I'm not aware that David was considered a prophet by Jews. His writings are classified in the Hebrew Bible as just that- writings. Do you think Christians would have a theological motivation for reworking David into a prophet?

Psalm 22 is about David, not Jesus?

Some Jews certainly did consider David a prophet. Nehemiah 12:24 and 12:36 both call David the "man of God". This term as far as I know is only used in the Tanakh for a prophet as it is used in 1 Kings 13:1-2.

    Hello

Would you agree Zerubbabel was the 'first governor of the repatriated Jews' at Haggai 2:21. Zerubbabel I find was a descendant of King David at 1 Chronicles 3:19-20, ancestor of Jesus at Matthew 1:12-13; Luke 3:27, and father of seven (7) sons. Zerubbabel was the actual son of Pedaiah but...

    There ain't no Jesus here.

Jesus would first come as Messiah (person) at his baptism, but be cut off in death 3 1/2 years after his baptism. Yes, a request for wood. Wood to be used in Jerusalem to replace the gates which were burnt down - Nehemiah 1:3 B Isn't Ezra about the rebuilding of the temple - temple rebuilding -...

Watchtower Governing Body: Are They The Exclusive Channel For God??

Sure, i dont have a problem with that. All the angels of heaven are likewise of the order of God if you want to put it that way. The bible calls all the angles 'sons of God' therefore they are also 'of the order of God' by this logic Job 38:4 Where were you when I founded the earth?+... 7...

Watchtower Governing Body: Are They The Exclusive Channel For God??

The notion that the title 'Son of God' indicates inferiority to the Father is based on a faulty conception of the phrase "son of..." Meant among the ancients. Though the term can refer to "offspring of" in some contexts, it also carries the important meaning "of the order of." The phrase is...

Watchtower Governing Body: Are They The Exclusive Channel For God??

Have you looked into the history of the birthday custom? Dig up some information and let me know what you find as to their origin.

Watchtower Governing Body: Are They The Exclusive Channel For God??

When is a birthday a religious celebration? A birthday is not identifying, or edifying someone as God or above God. It's merely a celebratory instance of being here on Gods earth another year. Also, about the Son... The notion that the title 'Son of God' indicates inferiority to the Father is...

    Bible errancy discussion

Your copious copy/paste job laden with irrelevant information, and your blatant plagiarism aside, I'm assuming you go along with "most scholars," that Luke's inclusion of "Cainan" in his genealogy is an error. Good! It isn't often one meets a Biblical apologists who admits the Bible has errors...

    Bible errancy discussion

[Edit] Note to the reader, this post consists of material that I have posted elsewhere on the Internet. After nearly 20 years of doing this I have a great deal of material that I have used for the same sort of discussions. I guess that isn't fair and I will be editing and rewording all of...
