The Trinity - What on Earth is it?

Here's where I am today, in my thinking about the Trinity. :grinning: I'm thinking that God Himself is telling us that worshipping Jesus and the Holy Spirit is not violating His command against worshipping other gods, but He is not telling us how that can be true, because there isn't any way...

    My Thoughts (Choice/Homosexuality)...Long

This is long and for resource rather than debate. It took me awhile to put this together for another site I go off and on these days. I had to paraphrase it and make it objective. Anyway, take your time. It's for your information only. If we can't control our attraction, why do we think being...

    Does the Bible mention Islam?

God had already chosen, who his Elect and Very Elect people are, all the way back before God created this Earth age.

    Does the Bible mention Islam?

Jesus came for the downcast, downtrodden and sinners. Only the meek shall inherit the Kingdom of God. Sure, your can imagine yourself to be one the elect of God, but at the end of the day God chooses. Perhaps as one of the elect you can use your special knowledge to interpret the following...

Why do some atheists have to be so insulting and mean?

Hard to do! But applying this is productive.

Why do some atheists have to be so insulting and mean?

Be always humble, gentle, and patient. Show your love by being tolerant with one another. (Ephesians 4:2) Hot tempers cause arguments, but patience brings peace. (Proverbs 15:18)

    Unity

    Ephesians 4:2-3 (YLT) 2 with all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love, 3 being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of the peace;

    Inspiration from the Bible

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. - Ephesians 4:2

    Westboro at it again...

I think the issue here is that they're interpreting "love" in a different way than you (or probably I) would interpret it. Just because someone comes to a different conclusion than you do doesn't mean that they're "cherry-picking".

    Westboro at it again...

How about these?..... Romans 13:8Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. Ephesians 4:2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 1 Peter 1:22 Having purified your souls by your obedience to...

    The Power of Silence

Exactly. It is one of the many skills that I think is universal in all faiths. The act of humbleness in speech, mind, body, and soul. The Buddha mentions to be humble and compassionate (the inner source of silence and some aspects Zen) that we should have the: 1. Right Understanding (Samma...

    Today's modern Pharisees..

Hi Robert, You make a good point. Christianity only became that way from around 305 onwards until relatively recently with more entire denominations abandoning teachings of hatred and rejection of others. During most of the first 300 years it was quite gentle and loving. I believe these...

Prayers to Mary (and other Saints) (Christians)

Ephesians 4:2 and carry on this conversation "with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love." All in favor? Paul was addressing Christians here. *edit*

Prayers to Mary (and other Saints) (Christians)

Hold up here, everyone cool our jets. This bickering, back-and-forth judging is getting out of hand, even for my liking. And I've been in some pretty coarse, rough-and-tumble conversations. How about we all agree to take a hint from Ephesians 4:2 and carry on this conversation "with all...

    for Tom

Tom, Jesus may care for all the churches even when they are not in agreement, or unity, but the bible still says unity, in liked mindedness in the Christians beliefs. Here are a couple verses on this. 1 Corinthians 1:10 10 I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that...
