Why does God care about some mammal species floating around in the middle of nowhere?

Because no god ever created any world, it's all guesswork.........

    Is atheism a belief?

Others are 'mindless' are they? But there is no evidence for any god that 'created' this world or anything else. Would you create a world where every living creature must eat another living creature, just to survive, just to stay alive? I suggest that no 'god' could create anything as stupid...

    Is atheism a belief?

Adrian009, that must be a contradiction, doesn't the definition of 'Christian' include belief in a deity, that you accept the whole ball of wax that defines a 'Christian'? And what does the term 'symbolic' mean in this case? And 'largely symbolic' means what? 87% symbolic maybe, and the other...

Why does God care about some mammal species floating around in the middle of nowhere?

He doesn't, because there are no gods except the ones people make up. You haven't noticed that the omnipotent, omniscient Being that you have created in your mind has created a world where every living creature must eat another living creature to survive? And whatever is eaten, 3/4 of it is...

    Is atheism a belief?

It's not difficult....... atheism is 'without' theism, or without a belief in a god. Humans have created gods since the beginning of our thousands of years of evolution, and a study of anthropology explains why. Each group of humans creates a unique 'god', and instills that idea in each...

    Questions no one can answer

Why would an omnipotent, omniscient 'god' create a world where every living creature must eat another living creature in order to stay alive himself?

Does anyone believe in Evolution anymore?

Evolution is both a theory and a fact, and is well documented scientifically. It is accepted as the only reasonable explanation for what we see around us. But have you ever looked seriously at the idea of a 'god' creating this world? Have you noticed that in our world every living creature is...

What does the Bible say about the origins of the Earth in relation to what science say?

Perhaps...... and yes, I've thought about it, and I've read the book a couple of times. I'm open to rational theory and evaluations regarding the Book, especially on this site. So, is there any reason to suppose that a god would not be a rational being? So many puzzling things though, such...

What does the Bible say about the origins of the Earth in relation to what science say?

I would be more than happy to be enlightened, but it will have to be soon, as I'm 81 years old now. And can you please tell me who 'us' refers to in verse Gen 1:26: 'Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness...."

What does the Bible say about the origins of the Earth in relation to what science say?

Hard to know what you mean..... the book tells you what god did and didn't do, doesn't it? For example, at gen 1:26 we read 'Then god said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the ......." Never have I heard anyone say who 'our' refers to, or who 'them' is...

What does the Bible say about the origins of the Earth in relation to what science say?

What? You have no evidence of any 'god' creating anything, that's what puzzles me, why you think such an event occurred.....

What does the Bible say about the origins of the Earth in relation to what science say?

Not sure about those stats.......Nearly all is what, at least 140 million? And you are saying that the perpetrators were without belief systems? But nearly all groups have cultural beliefs regarding gods and religions, I guess I would want to see the numbers.

What does the Bible say about the origins of the Earth in relation to what science say?

Hmmm........ yes, well I'll leave it at that.......

What does the Bible say about the origins of the Earth in relation to what science say?

I have, but it's complex if you want to say atheism is the only or dominant cause. The idea that believing in this or that god or goddess means I want to kill another human being doesn't necessarily ring true to me. Perhaps it is more the notion of absolute belief in something, I don't know...

What does the Bible say about the origins of the Earth in relation to what science say?

Agreed, but killing over religion is very dominant, and very cultural. Immediately the 30 Year War in Europe comes to mind, Anglicans versus Protestants or someone. I grew up with Christopher Columbus myths..... a man supported by the church had no trouble killing and maiming non-christians...

What does the Bible say about the origins of the Earth in relation to what science say?

Whatever that means..... Of course anything can be said of 'god', right, whatever you think or wish, but that isn't' the point to me. Have you noticed that every person can say something different about god, and they can believe in whatever god they create in their heads. My concern is with...

What does the Bible say about the origins of the Earth in relation to what science say?

You've lost me, I don't know what 'order of creation' means. I guessing now that you're saying it's not literal as written in the Bible, but rather figurative. Yes, I accept that, but it just confuses the issue. We could say yes, either god did or didn't really say that, but that is too...

What does the Bible say about the origins of the Earth in relation to what science say?

Yes...... Within a framework of reality and non-reality. Nebulous concept progress, it depends upon your mind-set perhaps...... But, for example, if you were a 'god', would you create a world with two sexes?

What does the Bible say about the origins of the Earth in relation to what science say?

Genesis 1-3: And God said, 'Let there be light'. God said, god saw...... What are you saying?

What does the Bible say about the origins of the Earth in relation to what science say?

Evolution? You accept evolution as factual? It is the awkward questions that interest me. Such as 'why would a god create more than 4000 or 5000 species of beetles', not that it is our place to know, but lots of things written in the bible trouble me, such as god killing old people and...
