The problem with this proposal is that is it restricted to people with terminal diagnoses. Assisted suicide whould be available to all adults who are mentally capable of understanding the consequences of their actions, regardless of physical health.
I have never seen any evidence that atheists are less moral than theists. Also, I believe Communtist "atrocities" were largely motivated by politics, rather than religion or atheism. It was all about power and money.

It is far more dignified for a person to die from a professionally administered lethal injection than to die by blowing his/her brains all over a room or jumping from a building.
Why? It helped bring the issue of assisted suicides to the attention of a great many people. And it demonstrated that Dr. Kevorkian was not attempting to cover up his activities. He was not ashamed of his activities, not did he have any reason to be ashamed. They were missions of mercy.
