The Trinity - What on Earth is it?

The title "Son of God" is not to be confused with "the only Son of God". 441 In the Old Testament, "son of God" is a title given to the angels, the Chosen People, the children of Israel, and their kings. It signifies an adoptive sonship that establishes a relationship of particular intimacy...

If Christ comes today, how do you know it is really Him?

Christians believe it and they wrote it. That's why they can't accept what you think it says. How do you know what Jesus said or didn't say?

If Christ comes today, how do you know it is really Him?

It's irrelevant if what Christian tradition says is true or not. It says what it says. It doesn't say something else. It's about Jesus and noone else. One doesn't exclude the other: Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The...

    When does life begin?

It contains all of the genetic information (a complete - diploid human genome) of a new individual (genetically unique) organism. But there is more. From a purely scientific standpoint: "Both by its genetic information, produced proteins, overall molecular composition, and by its behavior, even...

    Atheists: does God exist?

Yes, it's hard to give a meaningful answer without any definitions. I'm an atheist regarding Abrahamic God and gods of various (other) mythologies. I'm an agnostic theist regarding philosophical pantheistic conceptions of God. https://simple.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantheism...

    Afterlife

So far I haven't experienced any sign of afterlife so I have no idea. There are people who are supposed to have seen ghosts of the deceased... I believe it can be true but I can't confirm until more evidence is available.

    When does life begin?

Life begun somewhere about 4 billion years ago. Life of a new human organism begins at the conception.

If Christ comes today, how do you know it is really Him?

That's right. And that's the belief expressed also in NT Bible and 2000 old years tradition. You can believe it or not but you can't say something else is tradition. Acts 4:12 12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be...

If Christ comes today, how do you know it is really Him?

You're right but It has already happened. The warning was announced 2000 years ago: “Repent, for the kingdom of God has come near.” "Unless you repent, you too will all perish." And "the ark" was built: Mark 16 15 He said to them [the apostles], “Go into all the world and preach the gospel...

Importance and value of personal efforts for spiritual growth after recognizing and accepting Jesus as Lord

James 2 26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

If Christ comes today, how do you know it is really Him?

I t's comparing days of Noah with days of Son of Man but not comparing Noah with Son of man. Son of man has a different function. He won't come to warn. He will come to fulfill judgement and the flood has the same function as the judgement.

If Christ comes today, how do you know it is really Him?

Emphasis added: 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark... 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. It's...

If a person claiming to be Christ comes today, how do you know it is really *not* him?

The criteria are exactly the same: - he won't make an entrance (all this won't happen: "revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels", "the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken", "every eye will see him"...) - he won't judge the world and...

If Christ comes today, how do you know it is really Him?

These words are not about the 1000years reign. They are about the the time right before judgment. People will be unprepared and wouldn't believe the judgment will happen. And then when the judgment comes the world will be purged of all the wicked (just as in the flood story).

If Christ comes today, how do you know it is really Him?

Here is a commentary why this sounds like a contradiction but it's not: John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world In the earth; which is no contradiction to his resurrection from the dead, and stay with his disciples for a while; nor to his return to judge the world at the last day; nor to...
