I was just hoping to see some more replies. These questions were never answered.
As Christians, are WE not also considered His disciples?
Is it not our job as much as it was their's to follow this commandment?
Or did He just intend for the Good News to die with all of those who lived during...
Thank you to all who replied.
Nutshell,
You asked the question that I was trying to reach. Jesus was talking to His disciples. As Christians, are WE not also considered His disciples?
Is it not our job as much as it was their's to follow this commandment?
Or did He just intend for the Good...
Thank you for replying Candi......
I'm not looking for any particular answer. I'm just interested as to what people think about it.
Adding to my original questions:
Is following it something that we are supposed to do as practicing Christians?
If so, why?
If not, why?
As a Christian, how do you view what is called the Great Commission?
How important is it to you?
How do you carry it out?
Matthew 28:19-20
19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all...
 Ditto............
The only thing I would like to add is that.....No, it is not un Christian, as you put it, to have the kind of doubts and questions that you are experiencing. How about taking those thoughts and feelings to God rather than depending on any of our answers? Getting...
Hello,
I wanted to respond to this last night, but didn't get a chance. It bothers me when I hear of any Christian NOT being helpful or kind to someone. That is not what being a Christian is all about. And personally, I am very sorry that you have had negative experiences. Glad it's been better...
Hi Trey,
I'm glad to see your post here because I've been wanting to know more about Unitarian Christianity! It's interesting to me.
Regarding the Trinity, how do Unitarians view the Holy Spirit?
Thanks,
Allison
Hi,
It's interesting to me that you said "and possibly the divinity of Christ" in your first issue.
That is the core of Christianity. Keep exploring that issue because if you can settle that within your heart, the rest of your issues will fall into place, so to speak.
Hi,
I think I understand what you're trying to say! Let's see!
Do Christians have a set of "rules" to follow?
My answer is yes, Oh yes, indeed!
First of all, our "rules" as you put it are more of a "way of life" to me. And you find the answers to your questions throughout the New Testament as...
Hey Trey,
Me too! The name of the song about reincarnation is Galileo. Remember that one?
My favorite line from it is:
If we wait for the time till all souls get it right
then at least I know there'll be no nuclear annihilation
in my lifetime; I'm still not right
:angel2:
Hey Katzpur,
I'm sorry it took a while for me to respond to this. I've had company this weekend!
Are you saying that once we "confess Christ," nothing more is expected of us? I would be interested to hear your interpretation of these three verses of scripture:
Matthew 7:21 "Not every one...
John 10:28-29
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
I interpret this to mean no man can pluck you from the...
I don't believe in reincarnation myself..........although there is an old song that I love by the Indigo Girls which celebrates the idea! :rainbow1:
We were known to God before we were born and our souls will live on somewhere for eternity!

I am Baptist.
I have visited several other churches of different denominations and felt just as comfortable there as I do in my own. As long as I can feel the presence of the Lord, it doesn't matter to me what name is on the building!
I'm new to this.......so, please tell me if my reaction is typical.....I busted out with laughter when I read this....not at the words or the point being made....just the reaction! Totally didn't expect that... And I'm loving these conversations! :)
I was originally responding to a comment...
