So it made sense to me that it was actually an old Celtic song. Now I whistle Greensleeves all year round and people look at me funny. :D

I like some Christmas music but generally only when I'm in control of the playlist and can turn it off when I'm tired of it. It does get bothersome hearing it nonstop from every elevator and storefront for days on end. Also, I tend to like the less traditional varieties such as the links in...
I love the joy of the children, mine and others during the season. I've been lucky not to be surrounded by the gimme, gimme, gimme kids.
I also love pointing out the pagan origins to my more fundamentalist relatives just to see their faces go all sour.
While I consider myself a...

Punishment covers a lot of bases. One is to not allow the criminal to commit future crimes but that isn't the main purpose. The person who committed the crime must be responsible for the consequences of the crime. If the law says such and such crime leads to such and such a punishment then...
Oh I think its pretty natural to automatically assume the proper punishment for a man who killed your family is death. The only difficulty in my decision would be whether or not to torture the fellow before killing him. I don't believe in torture and feel using death as a punishment should be...

I don't think so. Since they would not know it was me who had done it there would be little satisfaction in it.
Punish. Revenge is underrated. (I have some Scottish blood and I blame my vindictiveness on that.)
I thought I agreed with her too. My high school was statistically higher on the sex side than yours but there were plenty of kids not getting any. Strangely enough, the band was very promiscuous. All my friends and my girl friend were in the Band, bunch of party animals.
If you've gotten to the point where no amount of talking as an effect then you have already lost. If you have been honest and non-judgmental from an early age, your teenager is more likely to pay attention, even if they might not want you to know it. They do have a reputation to uphold after...
The statistics will vary greatly from school to school. When I was in high school in the 80s there was a fair amount of sex going on and not just the juniors and seniors either. But I think you're correct that people seem to think its like a Porkys movie or something and it isn't.
Of course your view should be taught and with equal fervor. I only disagree with it being the paramount solution. I agree that ignoring abstinence in Sex-Ed is wrong. As for the education system failing, are we really all that surprised?
Abstinence might be the safest but it...
