I've been thinking of a potential contradiction. The Quran tells Mohammad (s) to not a let disbelief of a person cause him grief. Yet Quran says it maybe that he kills himself out of grief for them as hyperbola as well God expresses intense grief over his servants in Surah Yaseen.

Things can't be defined into existence
I agree things can't be defined into existence. What are we really discussing than, regarding God is three options.
(1) He is seen in imagination only.
(2) He is seen in both imagination and reality (conceptually can be imagined + can be seen to exist)...

The Prophet (s) had to calculate words keeping in mind divisions were possible. Shias have passed hadiths naming the twelve Imams and these are clear, but he had to also convey words that would be carried by their opponents. There is various components to the Twelve Caliphs hadith. He...

I think in general the answer without God it would be no. But when the truth is the absolute beauty and being worthy of worship and love if you deny the truth emanating from him and towards him, it's hating goodness at it's core.
No one can see their evil almost, most souls deceive...

(1) Slaves of God exist and we are his servants, other types are false.
(2) The malakat aymanihim in most places refers to muta.
(3) "Your servants" has a similar meaning to "your disbelievers" or "their Prophet", it doesn't denote ownership but rather "the servants (of God) from you"...

Sunnis are right - Quran can be clearer about Ali (a) and Imams (a) so why isn't?
I want to start of to say that Sunnis are right that Imammate could be clearer in Quran. There is a suggestion in hadith attributed to Imam Ali (a) when asked about "peace be upon the family of Yaseen"...

Amount of original believers compared to majority of "Muslims" at time of Prophet (s) end
The original believers were a minority of the final amount of Muslims at the end of Prophet (s) life. What I mean by this, is that most of "Muslims" by end of Prophet (s) life, were people who had...
The following was a post I made another forum. I thought it would be beneficial to share it here.
4:54 Context
Imam Baqir (a) and Imam Reda (a) both according to our ahadith heavily emphasized on the link between 4:54 and 4:59. We also have a hadith from Imam Musa Al-Kathim (a) emphasizing the...
The following is a reply on another forum. However, it highlights a concept I have about the Quran. That it's interwoven.

There are many ways to prove the meaning. One is to look at similar verses and interpret it through similar expressions. Another is to see the verse by flow in the chapter and let the first impression take place and not to twist it out of it's place.
Another is to see what hadiths say...

Recently, I've been exploring Sufi sites and seeing what they say in regards to whether hell is forever or not.
From what I see, most Sufis go out and try to prove through Quran that hell is indeed forever.
So it was my mistake, in the past, to say Sufis believe hell is temporary.
There is three hadiths in total I've read that say no more Messengers after Mohammad (s). The majority say "Nabi", and the Quran could've said "khatamal Mursaleen" "the finality/seal of the sent ones", but said "Nabiyeen". The former would mean no Imams sent for example.
I've also seen a...

I posted this in response to: How did Jews in the holy land worship when they could not get to the Temple?
I realized that what I post can be controversial, so decided to delete and post it here:
I think the abrogation of Jesus (a) had mostly to do with this and the fact there were no...

The Quran talks about day and night in contrast to each other. Sometimes this about the real night and day we are use to in the outward world, and other times it's towards a relative concept of truth manifesting and it being veiled.
The day of judgment is not a 24 hour day, but will...
I am getting older
I've built hardly anything with you
My distance from you not shorter
As death get's closer too
I've destroyed the treasures from your light
That you originated me on
Losing of all that is important by my sight
Instead lust and caprice is what I'm upon
If I die like this...

The Quran has a definition which even a disbelieving wife can be included in the term "family" of a Prophet:
فَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ أَجْمَعِينَ | So We delivered him and all his family, | Ash-Shu'araa : 170
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِي الْغَابِرِينَ | except an old woman who remained behind...
There is hard power which is through threat of brute force. There is soft power which is convincing a person they ought to do something for reasons other then brute force threat.
There's a relationship between the two as well. There is also usually not just one source of soft power but...
1. Wish well for people
Per Quran, a disbeliever doesn't want anything good coming to believers. So if you wish well for everyone, you can't be a disbeliever per Quran.
2. Enjoin feeding of the poor
This is one of the things people of hell will say they did not do. If you do this, you are...
