Another member... you guys should read more carefully. It helps a lot when you are trying to sound clever.
The initial post that was quoted (#258) and I replied to was concerning a member here who it was claimed had a very small chance of existing. At no point in any of my posts was God(or any...

2. They didn't just preserve they expanded upon.. a lot. Those ancient civilisations you mentioned also preserved and expanded upon what others had done before them. It's pretty much the story of humanity.

This got taken more seriously than I had intended, few years ago something strange happened and I said "what are the chances of that?" My friend replied "since it just happened... 100%". Similarly the odds of someone who currently exists, existing is 1:1 or 100%... No? :D
I don't know if I find it funny(well sometimes it is definitely funny but speaking in general), but I do find it fun. Will taking death so seriously make it a more pleasant experience? Will I gain more from life worrying about it?
Well they are making claims, you are yet to show any of them being factual. The one you pointed out about the Quran claiming salt water and fresh water never mix seems to be bunk.
Here are the verses mentioning the mixing of waters:
“God is the one who caused two bodies of water to flow, one...
My views on this are not solid but I think it will be a physical body, I think heaven will be similar to Earth just without the negatives and a bunch of bonuses added in. Whether the body is the same as we have now or some new matter... I don't know. Is there some reason it would even matter...
Thanks for the welcome! :)
Whether it is a place or a state, if it exists I'm sure it's gonna suck :D
The times I have felt closest to God is when I talk to Him, not praying but just sharing like a friend.
I do try to abide by the Quran, however this has not always been the case and I do not...
Yes, I'd imagine they would, probably not the same as ours as I don't believe they are up for judgement.
By operate I mean function in reality. Without the access to our 5 senses that having a body gives us the soul has no way of interacting with anything. It can't see, hear, smell, touch, think.
Lol, wikiIslam? Well you have certainly chosen a balanced source of information :D
Instead of relying on third parties could you just quote one or more of the multiple instances of the Quran claiming that it is impossible for salt water and freshwater to mix?
EDIT: Here is the quote in...
It claims that bodies of water exist where they do not mix, it does not claim that they cannot mix. Which is true. In fact the Quran goes into even more detail distinguishing between when this phenomenon happens in seas and when it happens in estuaries...
Personally I believe we are a combination of body and soul, neither can operate without the other. When our body dies, our soul remains, but without a body it cannot interact with reality, so cannot detect the passing of time etc.
So my belief goes, we die and will be resurrected on judgement...
