    Cardinal Pell and Evolution

I believe Covid was a man made problem leaked either accidently or deliberately from a part US financed lab that was working on biological warfare in China. Probably under the auspices of something else. Mask wearing was the ultimate in control and the masses fell for it and it will be tried...

    Cardinal Pell and Evolution

I assume the sushi chef remark is not a compliment? Why do I seek faith again? I think it's part age-related and part a desire to understand what life/death are all about. Quite recently I have lived in Argentina and Spain and saw aspects of religion that were interesting and disturbing in equal...

    Cardinal Pell and Evolution

Thanks for another clear and detailed reply. I like that approach. I think that is the way I will look at things from now on.

    Cardinal Pell and Evolution

Precisely Anna. That's where I get lost with it all. As I understand it, original sin was a doctrine brought by Augustine towards the end of the 4th century and there were plenty of dissenting voices. Furthermore, and I might be wrong here, but the Eastern Orthodox Church does not hold to...

    Cardinal Pell and Evolution

Thanks for the detailed reply. Your comments have added to my understanding. I'll take a look at the moral influence theory of atonement.

    Cardinal Pell and Evolution

For a long time I've been struggling with Genesis. I cannot accept the view that Adam and Eve are historical people and our first parents. Repeatedly I hear references to them in that way in sermons and discussions. I keep going back to a programme I saw from Australia where Cardinal Pell was...

    Studying Mathew

Thanks for that. For me, listening to the words of biblical texts as well as reading directly, cause difficulties. I'll probably try my tried and trusted method and then once I understand the broad meaning, at that point I can sit back and listen.

    Studying Mathew

I'd like to thank all those above who have replied to my post. There is so much information for me to consider, thank you. I know things can be viewed at a variety of levels and I get a sense of just how deep that can be by the replies given. I have much to do! For now, a simple reading of the...

    Studying Mathew

Hello, I'm Kevin, 69 yrs old, living in England. Finding my way back into faith, and having difficulty landing somewhere! However, I would like someone to help me study Mathew's Gospel. I've no idea how to go about this other than to start with The Sermon on the Mount. I've no theological...

" Franklin Graham Has Been Rejected by Every Venue for His UK Tour"

Sadly the answer is no, especially once the well-funded and well organised LGBTQI+++ brigade get their teeth into things. Liverpool venue rolled over meekly once the snowflakes argued that Graham might actually incite the audience to " attack" said snowflakes. I would have gone just to hear what...

    Christian episcopal church in England

I don't think so. It's very confusing but I think the high church refers more to the Anglo-Catholic idea. This one is/was something new, an offshoot leaning towards orthodox Anglicanism, pro-life, anti-LGBT, heavily Bible based and possibly with some trappings of high church liturgy.

    Christian episcopal church in England

Further apologies...no idea why the post was curtailed. As I was saying, I thought the Church was started in England in 2017 with Gavin Ashenden as its missionary bishop. There are larger parts in the US and Canada but as I'm in England I was hoping to find info for there, As I understand it, it...

    Christian episcopal church in England

Apologies if this is in the wrong place. I'm trying to find information on the Christian Episcopal Church in England. I think it was started

    Still seeking......

I can see that it might appear that way but that isn't the case. I'm not too bothered on being part of a community in the sense that it's a group action/activity thing. I like the Church as described because, with the RC one in particular, I can go in anytime, on my own ( I'm not the gregarious...

    Still seeking......

I started this search over 2 years ago and I'm more confused than when I started! I have more questions about the stuff in the OT and even more about the NT than when I started. In a nutshell, Christianity seems to centre on the resurrection which, for me, is deeply lacking in evidence. I could...

    Divorce/re-marriage/annulment

Thanks for the reply Mark and in particular, thanks very much for the prayers. I can't say that I completely follow the reasoning involved in the "internal forum" but I'm inclined to think that if there was some way of helping me overcome my difficulties then Liverpool Cathedral would have...

    Divorce/re-marriage/annulment

Hello Steve, Thanks for the very detailed reply. My response won't be so long! I'm aware of the Church teaching that you quote and I cannot disagree with the stance in so far as it has been agreed as the way to approach these matters from an ecclesiastical point of view. However, I get a bit...

Thinking of converting but have some questions about local church.

I think I read one of your posts elsewhere saying that you were about to start an RCIA course? I was going to ask a few questions about that but decided not to. Now, having seen this, I see parallels with my situation. I've posted about seeking a new direction in faith after over 50 years away...
