This reference is to the 2nd coming of Christ, which is a different topic from the original question regarding the authenticity of the miracles of Christ....Jesus says that in the end times, many will come and say they are the Christ. Jesus says not to believe these rumors because all will be...
I am not making that suggestion.
The point I was making was that, going back to the original question, the question by the Religious Leaders at that time was where Jesus was getting His power to perform the miracles. The Religious Leaders were wrong in their assumption of where Jesus was getting...
Jesus actually answered this to the Religious Leaders who claimed that Jesus was defeating evil by the power of evil. Jesus said their logic was wrong because a house divided cannot stand. In addition, Jesus said many will be deceived, not all.
It's up to you if you accept this or not.
You make a good point about Satan being a master deceiver :) I agree!
With regards to Paul, Paul wrote to the Thessalonians after Jesus' death and was speaking of events yet to come. When reading what Paul wrote, it's quite clear Paul is not speaking of Jesus.
So it appears you have answered your own question.;)
A closer look at scripture reveals that the question was not whether Jesus performed miracles. (Even the opposition to Jesus agreed that miracles were being performed). The real question, however, was "under who's authority and power was Jesus...
Hi PopeADope! Thank you for you nice comment. :) I like Victor Frankl as well and have read his book "Man's Search for Meaning" (although quite some time ago!). I appreciate anyone's effort to see out God. I'll check out Franz Werfel...sounds very interesting!.....Amish Taliban? Please expand!
Reading your post Segev...that is so cool!
I'm endeavoring to read a book by a Jewish author called "The Lonely Man of Faith". Haven't delved into it yet but it looks intriguing.
I'm truly happy for you! You seem very happy too :)
I'd be interested to hear how your journey progresses
the Jews are "chosen" because the Messiah comes through the Jewish line. Even the Jews believe that the Messiah comes via
Judaism.
We are also told that the Torah (Law) is not made invalid by Jesus. It is fulfilled by Jesus. We are told that not one lick of the Law will go away. Jesus is the...
While I find your reasoning an excuse, I also think that your curiosity about Jesus is a good thing. In fact, after Jesus tells the parable of the Great Feast (where the verse I quoted to you comes from), he goes on to say that one should not make a hasty decision to follow Him because while it...
Hello SearchingForGod, Thinking about your life and its purpose is not a waste of time IMHO. As a Christian, I'm pleased to see that you have an interest in Jesus. Have no doubt that God loves you and wants you! I encourage you seek God in prayer (Jer 29:13, Jer 33:3,) Jesus says we should ask...
No, I'm not feeling like a pawn at all but rather grateful for God's love and grace. Jesus said that he had others who belonged to him that were not Jewish (John 10:16).
It's also important to keep in mind the audience Paul was writing to in the letter to the Romans. Here's the background: In...
The quote you take from Ecclesiastes says that the dead do not participate in this world any longer. There are plenty of scriptures that refer to eternal life (John 3:16; John 17:3; Matt 25:46; Daniel 12:2; 2 Thes 1:8-9; John 4:35-36; etc)
