    Evolution and Theory of Evolution

It's in Babylonian Talmud, Berachot 32b. My calculations may have been incorrect. Here's a link to the verse as well as the calculations.Frum Heretic: Chazal Knew the Number of Stars!

    Evolution and Theory of Evolution

My comment probably doesn't belong here, but I have found something very interesting. It says in the Talmud, which was written sometime between 200-400 CE, it says that there are 10^18 stars in the universe. It's fascinating because all the astronomers of the day thought that there were no more...

Can a person choose to believe?

Very good question. Let me tell you that most religions are based around belief. I am one of the many who are not interested in believing, only in knowing. I found that there is some proof that the Torah (Jewish Bible) is a book from God. There are lots of prophecies that have come true, for...

    Question about polytheism and monotheism.

The "pay attention to the consequences" is the "fear" I referred to. It's just the translation to the English word "fear" which isn't EXACTLY what they meant.

    Question about polytheism and monotheism.

If you don't have a bit of fear, your attitude is like this: "Why should I listen? Nothing is going to happen to me."

    Question about polytheism and monotheism.

The reason why we believe we should fear Him is this: how can you take Him seriously if there is no fear at all? How can you follow all His commandments if you don't fear the consequences? Fear is also great respect, and a sign of wisdom because it means taking everything very seriously.

    Loving God = Eternal Torture?

Well that is because the lowest sheol is reserved for the very evil people like the Nazis. I think we all agree that people like that deserve punishment.

    Question about polytheism and monotheism.

A very good question. Unfortunately I don't know the answer. I'll have to read about it some more.

    Loving God = Eternal Torture?

Very good question. Although I don't have a Christian answer for you, I have a jewish one. In Judaism, the concept of Hell is very different. It is not a place of eternal punishment and torture, but rather, it's only temporary and meant to clean the soul from the sins and evil and stuff like...

    Question about polytheism and monotheism.

How can you say that there is no real monotheistic religion? In Judaism there is only one God, and God is all. He is infinite. Perfect monotheism.
