What Is Your Favorite Paranormal, Supernatural, Folklore, Mythological, Creature Or Being?

Dragons. Vampires are 2nd. If vampires existed, I would totally sex them up.

Why do you not believe in God?

There are so many reasons. First of all, the idea of an invisible wizard in the sky is ridiculous. Santa Claus makes more sense. Second, there is no evidence whatsoever to support any religious claims. Third, religion is a means of controlling people, and I do not want to conform and be controlled.

    Best feminist films and games

Itty Bitty Titty Committee. That movie's hilarious.

    Atheists View On Satanism?

Satanism as I understand it has some merit (much like Sithism). It even encourages logical thought. Still, I could never bring myself to believe in God or Satan, much less worship either one of them.

    Do Cats Dogs have heartbreaks?

Heartbreak? I don't know. But grief? Yes. One of my cats died and another cat kept sniffing the spot where she died for months afterwards, and the last cat kept crying out for no other reason for months. They took it very hard. But now, they are content again. In fact, one is even more happy...

So, why don't you believe in God?

I was raised part Episcopalian, part Worldwide Church of God, but I must confess I don't think any of my parents really believed. I mean, I don't know about my biological father. He might have believed in God. But I don't think he really subscribed to the doctrine of the Worldwide Church of God...

Stupid things you hear about atheism

"So you believe in nothing?" I believe in a lot of things. Just not things that have no basis in fact or supporting evidence.

Fear of death (or lack of it)

I view life as involving a great deal of suffering, and death as the cessation of suffering. Therefore, I do not fear death. I kind of look forward to it (though I also don't seek it).

    The Walking Dead

How stupid is it that they moved all those people to the prison? THERE'S NO FOOD THERE!

are you a Vampire masquerade role player?

I used to play online. I've also played Changing Breeds. It's another White Wolf game (for NWoD).

    Would You Say You're Happy?

Well, I endured a lot of psychological abuse as a child, so I'm glad I'm past those times. And I prefer to have the faculties of logic that I have today (although sometimes I do miss the magic of childhood).

What were the reactions of your friends and family?

I didn't "become" an atheist. I always was one. My mother went from agnosticism to atheism as I grew up and my father went from belief (due to Pascal's Wager) to agnosticism. While they did take me to an Episcopalian church, they only did so in order to look good to a judge if my biological...

So, why don't you believe in God?

My mother and father were both agnostic as I was growing up. They sent me to an Episcopalian church until I was about 8. My biological father sent me to the Worldwide Church of God, which was pretty much a cult, while he was alive. The church is no longer called that. They rebranded. I don't...

Should sex be a moral issue at all?

Well, some sexual decisions are also ethical in nature. For example, deciding whether or not to commit adultery is a moral question, and not just for religious reasons (I'm an atheist and I don't care about those), but also because adultery is something which can do harm to another. Not physical...

    Any Alien Believers?

It seems like in an infinite universe, there could be more than one planet that supports life. But we'll probably never come in contact with aliens because of distance and the limitations of our technology, which we're not improving because we haven't met any aliens yet. And so the cycle goes.

    What causes homosexuality?

I'm gay, and I really couldn't tell you. Apparently there are some correlations between genetics and homosexuality as well as things like birth order, but overall, the answer is just too complex for humans to have sussed out yet. I can definitely say I didn't choose to be gay. It just happened...

    Are most atheists materialists?

I'm a cautious materialist. I'm always ready to be proven wrong. It just hasn't happened yet.

So, why don't you believe in God?

There are so many reasons. The first one which convinced me was simply that God seemed like all kinds of things (the Tooth Fairy, Santa, the Loch Ness Monster) that I knew did not exist. So I figured God was like those things and also did not exist. I was 8 at the time.

Atheists: What Gives Your Life Meaning

What gives my life meaning is how I am able to affect others' lives in a positive way. I do this every day just by being "out" (as an atheist and a lesbian), as I show others that I'm a normal person and a very loveable one, despite being an atheist and a lesbian, and I show other atheists and...
