I have been struggling lately. I became a Christian again earlier this year and have been looking at churches. It seems when I start getting involved, I lose interest. I believe in God, love Jesus and want to follow his teachings, but I want to take part in helping the poor, sick and...
I am a little confused about something. Proverbs mostly seems like a coherent whole, but verse 7 seems out of whack.
"The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender."
Most of the book is not very positive in speaking of the rich, so what does the verse mean?
I don't understand why there are always so many cars there. I have eaten there; it's not bad, but it doesn't warrant being crowded all the time. What's up with that?
It's gotta be talked about sooner or later. Who are your favorite candidates? I know we don't know exactly who will run, but of those whose names are bandied about, which one is on your short list?
I am looking at Chris Sununu. He seems pretty centrist. My husband says that candidates have to...
This might have been asked before but I love cars, so I wanted to ask. Also, do you name your cars?
I have a red 2017 Subaru Outback. Hubby has a dark gray 2015 Lexus ES350. They are both reliable, get fairly good gas mileage, are good in crash tests and are comfortable to drive. I chose both...
My pursuit to find a religion has ended. (I hope anyway.) There is just nothing out there for me. My philosophy is Buddhism, but not as a religion. Help me be happy with my decision to be agnostic
I had labs done and my LDL is super high, which is unlike me. I wonder if it's because I was on the "coconuts are the best" eating plan. That and having the broken ankle didn't help. I have now sworn off all coconut products and am trying to get back into a fitness regimen. Has anyone any other...
How does your religion explain why suffering and evil happen? Things like birth defects, the death of innocent people, starvation and sickness in developing nations, dictators, etc. I can't believe in a god that doesn't keep these things from happening.
I have been interested in them for years, and have decided to look into living in one if my husband passes before me. I think they are a great alternative to cities. People are invested in each other and often the environment. Do you have any near you? Any experience with them? What is your...
Hi, y'all. I broke my ankle last Wednesday and this is the first time I have sat in front of my computer. Hope everyone has had a great week! Going back to bed but will try to get on here again soon.
Is this a new tactic? I got a handwritten letter from a woman I don't know who says she lives in my community, telling me to get on jw.org and make my life better. I look forward to my mail usually, but this is almost worse than campaign fliers and things of that nature. Has this happened to...
I know many people change religions in life and I was curious what y'all's experiences have been. I was just a basic Theist when I was a kid. God was a kindly man with a beard looking down at me from the clouds smiling. I like and miss that view of him. I was a Christian for 28 years, became...
For some reason, I am fascinated with Latter Day Saints. I like parts of the religion, but don't like others. The thing I really like if they seem very family-oriented, moral and modest. Just clean-living folks. That appeals to me. But I can't agree with some of the doctrine and rules. I don't...
