Let's get some real perspective on things

If that is true, then I imagine it would have to be a majority of the religious people on the earth who would be removed. Our planet will be destroyed one day, whether by our own hand or by the sun. We will not have an everlasting time to fix our planet from the destruction our species has...

The process of learning what I believe and finding my personal path has made me a better person, and enriched my own life.

Let's get some real perspective on things

Practically speaking, we do this because it does. As you’ve outlined in your post the odds of interacting with intelligent life from other planets in our lifetime is basically zero. So we do need to live our lives with our planet as the focal point. Even if there was some way to reach...

Can't stand energy of Egyptian Gods

Maybe you should take some time outside of keeping altars and statues. Just because you have intuition about a certain path doesn’t mean you need to immediately set up an altar. Finding the right path isn’t a race, it’s a journey.

Race just another Social construct ?

I understood the question, and gave you my personal opinion on it.

Race just another Social construct ?

    No, I didn't.

Race just another Social construct ?

I’m saying that people, regardless of their skin color, who participate in competitive sports are people who work hard at what they do and probably have a high degree of mental discipline.

Race just another Social construct ?

Because they practice and work hard at their craft, mental discipline also has a lot to do with it.
  9. H

Race just another Social construct ?

That the color of their skin has nothing do with anything, and their talent as a basketball player has everything to do with their being on the team.

    insult me...

I draw the line at being decent to others because it is the right thing to do (I don't try to get into "simple statement" discussions with people). I do my best to understand how they see the world, and hopefully learn more about myself in that process, because being different doesn’t equal bad...

    insult me...

Seriously? Say a person used one of your “simple statements” (read: deliberately provocative statement geared towards demeaning someone’s beliefs) and it’s not the person who is delivering the insults fault, really?

    insult me...

You would really classify the examples you gave as “simple statements”

    insult me...

That didn’t really answer my question. I can only guess you’re asking because you’ve been in this situation a couple of times, which was why I asked my original question. Do you have an example of a simple statement that you are referring to?

    insult me...

By simple statements do you mean your interpretation about their religion or their interpretation?

    Which classifications are important?

Well, I guess I still wouldn’t try to classify traditions, but rather have separate classes for the traditions being taught and forums for modern practitioners to share their personal beliefs.

    Which classifications are important?

What would be the purpose of the university? Instructing on the different religious beliefs in the world?

    Which classifications are important?

Even with trying to group religion/traditions, I don’t really think it would be all that useful (again in reference to pagan traditions). The best definition of someone who is a pagan is someone who identifies as such. Even my own definition of pagan has changed, just a few years ago I would...

    Which classifications are important?

Amongst pagan religions, I don’t know how useful it would be. Even people who identify themselves as being a part of the same tradition can have vastly different beliefs and practices. Spirituality is such an individual thing, if you want to know you should just ask that person, trying to...

    Immortality or Rencarnation

I think it would be interesting to live several lifetimes, to see how the world will change, but I’m not sure about living forever. I do believe that part of my soul has the option to return to this existence and live again, but it wouldn’t be the “me” of right now and I’m fine with that, in...

Race just another Social construct ?

I think a better question is why should it matter? People who are inclined to treat others poorly based on some perceived superiority hardly need some scientific proof to back them up.
