Males have one less rib than females, scientific clues of creation

Hey you know somthing interesting? Ribs, if removed in the right way, grow back! They are the only bone in the body that do. When you take it out, you just have to leave a certain membrane intact. I am sure God is a very capable surgeon, so Adam's loss of a rib was not permanent.

How close is our DNA to other primates?

No actually, here is a creationist article saying that there is subjective judgement. It says the real figure is less than 87% similarity. Human chimp dna similarity re-evaluated

[THOUGHT EXPERIMENT] One day, evolution is proven false: then what happens?

Archeology and paleontology would certainly not be discarded, but the facts would be interpreted in a different way. You say that evolution is proved by these different fields, but here we are talking about a situation in which evolution is disproven, which means it would be disproven by the...

[THOUGHT EXPERIMENT] One day, evolution is proven false: then what happens?

Basically yes, it totally depends on your definition of evolution. Creationists do believe in natural selection and speciation, and that is the conventional definition of evolution, but just not common decent.

    Social Darwinism

No, you misunderstand the point. We are talking about social Darwinism here; evolution goes wherever we choose to make it go. Predicting its ultimate course is not fantasy if there is a person actively deciding where evolution is going.

[THOUGHT EXPERIMENT] One day, evolution is proven false: then what happens?

Like people keep saying, what exactly would happen would depend on the nature of the evidence against it, and the reason I believe that is because of the nature of the evidence against it. All biblical creationists with their head screwed on believe in genetics + time, speciation, natural...

    Social Darwinism

Evolution is about reproductive fitness, not personal fitness. The meek may be more adaptable personally, but it doesn't mean they have more offspring. Rapeists and sperm donors have more offspring, not meek people.

[THOUGHT EXPERIMENT] One day, evolution is proven false: then what happens?

My take as a biblical creationist: I don't think medicine, animal models, genetics or anything else would go out the window. Everything like that would still work fine, and the only fields that would be mucked up would be secular archeology and secular paleontology.

    Social Darwinism

Exactly right, yet these bottlenecks are supposed to have happened many many times in our ancestory. There is supposed to have been a catastrophic bottleneck fairly recently, down to 100 individuals (I think). If this happened we have survived it, and wipeing out a few million jews is hardly on...

Creationists DO believe in Natural Selection and Speciation

Oh no, there is a lot more to it than the 6000 years. I am sure any biblical creationist would say that there couldn't have been a common ancestor, even if there was enough time. One of the key creationists claims is that genetics + time cannot lead to complex new structures or an increase in...

Bill Nye: “Creationism is not Appropriate for Children”

No, although they use aspects of science, they do not practice true science. We cannot test the origin of life, because it happened once, and can never be observed again. I do read evolutionist materials. I read Dawkins book on evolution, and if that doesn't give me a good understanding of how...

Creationists DO believe in Natural Selection and Speciation

Which experiment is this? The only case in which a lac- bacteria can become a lac+ bacteria is when the bacteria was lac+ to start with, )so basically, you taken the lac operon, broken it and fixed it again) or if the bacteria was genetically modified. Wild type E. coli are lac+ to start with...

Bill Nye: “Creationism is not Appropriate for Children”

Clearly flawed? I have just obtained the said simulation program, and have found it allows you to specify all the relevant parameters. Although I am by no means an expert on this subject, because the simulation program allows you to specify the parameters that YOU want, if it is flawed, it is...

Creationists DO believe in Natural Selection and Speciation

You are right in saying that evolution and natural selection are completely different animals, but a lot of people do equate natural selection with evolution, not understanding that one is constructive and not observed, and one is destructive and observed. This is the classic Dawkins bait and...

Adam and Eve as a Myth

Evolution is the only theory of origins compatible with atheism. If you are interested in how we got here, atheism makes you an evolutionist. If we were created by aliens, that only shifts the problem off shore, who created the aliens? Atheism is not a scientific position, but it mandates that...

Adam and Eve as a Myth

No, there are other issues, but that is my favourite, and most of the others aren't remotely relevant to this thread. So you say we arose by abiogenesis and evolution?

Adam and Eve as a Myth

Yeah, but it wasn't just hard proteins, but soft tissue and cellular structures as well.

Creationists DO believe in Natural Selection and Speciation

Yes, good point, the God portrayed in the bible would not go out of his way to make things look evolved. There are some severe problems with homology as an argument for common ancestory. The most common one you will hear is that homologous structures often develop in totally different ways, so...

Creationists DO believe in Natural Selection and Speciation

Like I said, I don't know very much about creationist paleontology!
