I don't get it. USA is all about democracy and freedom, and all against dictatorship etc.. Yet, the majority believes in a single God, which seems like the biggest dictator in the universe. Is this a paradox or what?
According to Wikipedia, "Witchcraft broadly means the practice of, and belief in, magical skills and abilities that are able to be exercised by individuals and certain social groups."
Isn't this exactly what a prayer and beliefs in supernatural means?
What do you think about this world as a video game? And the brain as the transceiver between the real world and the game world? A brain damage, for example, would limit the data flow, which would explain mental illness..
I find it absurd that when people die, they have to go to some specific afterlife place based on their performance on this world. Why can't they go wherever they want to go?? What's the worst can they do, kill more dead people? It just doesn't make sense.
Let's say that you end up in heaven for eternity, with the loved ones. How long it will be before they drive you insane? And what can you do anyway, since you're stuck there forever?
From time to time I like to use cheat codes or trainers to advance game levels without the hardship of actually playing the game the way it was intended to be played.
It seems to me that following a religion along with all the sacred books, believing and praying, is like using cheat codes...
Which one is more scary?
1. Living forever (trillions and trillions of years) with no end in sight. Eventually experiencing every possible situation, including alternate universes, space travel, time travel, doing every job possible, becoming any possible imaginable and unimaginable creature...
One random day we become conscious, in a human body with no memory of the past events, in what we currently know as a \universe\galaxy\planet orbiting a star.
Do you think this is all:
a game?
VR world that's not a game?
prison?
Random thing with no reason whatsoever?
Some evil god's creation?
What or who gives anyone the right to say God bless this and God bless that? How about letting God to decide who to bless, and who not to bless???
Do you think most of, if not all, the people who believe in Abrahamic religions do it out of fear? Fear of going to hell, eternal torture, or being punished by god...
Are there any religions out there where people believe purely out of love and compassion, where there is no relation to fear...
Imagine our galaxy having 200 billion to 400 billion stars. Imagine how many could have planets that have intelligent living beings, different or similar to us? And so other countless galaxies might too have as much intelligent live forms.
There're probably trillions of different religions out...
Does the bible or any other religious texts talk about human body and how to maintain optimal health? Since God is supposed to be the creator, I'd assume he'd leave us some manuals on biology.
So what do you think the quality of life would be like if:
There was no religion on earth for the last 1000 years.
There was one universal religion where all humans were required to practice by law; any refusal or questioning would become a criminal act.
What if our universe is just a part of some molecule, of some weird world, beyond our comprehension :D
What does it make us humans, then?
What does it make "God", then?
:)
Remember all those alien invasion movies?
What if a creature of immense power comes to our planet, announcing itself as being the God, who doesn't like how we managed the planet, totally furious, destroying the cities, and killing people all over the place. All attempts to reason with this God...
If we retain our identity after we die and go to some kind of god's world / realm of happy existence, wouldn't that be like a torture being in this state for billions of years, or possibly for eternity?
But what if somehow we don't die, and live for 100 trillion years, get to learn and...
God is a name of a space ship (Guardian of destiny) in search for a habitable planet. We are currently in a state of stasis, or deep sleep, connected to the God's virtual reality computer system. When we die in the virtual world, it's just a wake up call; our time to operate the space ship. If...
