    Can anybody explain ?

Oh I thought you didn't. So to review, Hindu cannon is so vast that People usually settle for just the usual topics of Brahman, the Vedas, karma and samsara + Artha, Kama, Dharma, moksha. Aside form these specific texts...there is the Vast population of Personalities of the Vedic...

    Can anybody explain ?

Free market capitalism has innumerable beliefs and practices. Schools and colleges have innumerable beliefs and practices. But the goals are all more or less similar. Brahman, the Vedas, karma and samsara + Artha, Kama, Dharma, moksha. What remains, referred to as "All else is up for...

    Can anybody explain ?

How is it so vast? The Farmlands of America are so vast too but why would that lead away from a common purpose? The vast variety doesn't highlight an absolute goal? How does Vastness muddy the water of the intention of the Vedic revelation?

    Can anybody explain ?

Well any doubting Thomas must admit that Bhaktivedanta Swami certainly gave fair warning guidance as to how to recognize the WRONG PATH, and Dangerous Karma, and stumbling blocks of samsara. The above was cropped from this part of a lecture by Bhaktivedanta Swami

    Can anybody explain ?

Here is a word of encouragement. It is from a A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami lecture about the Vedic Knowledge, entitled "Teachings of the Vedas" You are right to examine and review without blind faith. Be the Spiritual Scientist that you proclaim is required for the successful path out of samsara.

    Keeping carnivorous pets

Yes. This is what I have been saying to you. All works and actions are intertwined in a network of Karmic activities. We are destined to get ensnared by our proximity to these acts. And the karmic-payback does not recognize "Personal Deductions". That is why Ekadasi Fasts are there...

    Keeping carnivorous pets

I suggest a reference be made to the mythological story line of "Life of Pi"

    Lying to Uphold Ahimsa

I thought you finished with what you wanted to say. Sorry You seem to think that the thread should focus on your life and definition of a Yogic sanskrit religious term for Non-Violence. When I define old school meaning of AHIMSA, I am not welcomed to do so. Take your cat and your life...

    Lying to Uphold Ahimsa

This is correct. But Dogs can be veggies. I see the logic here as correct. But getting involved with another's Dharma is none of an enlightened person's concern. It is not a man's Dharma to hunt for goat meat to feed to the Tiger. Even if the Tiger is part of your Zoo.

    Lying to Uphold Ahimsa

Am I my Brother's Bad-Karma Accountant? AHIMSA - It's not about 'Happy Thoughts' AHIMSA - It's about 'Happy Places'

    Lying to Uphold Ahimsa

Hey Jai, Do you lie to protect the principles of 'Non-Violence'? Or do you simply state what makes you popular (and cute)?

    Lying to Uphold Ahimsa

I am confused. The landlord forbids clawed cats? You have a clawed cat? So if your clawed cat causes HIMSA, you receive the Karma for the act performed by a cat under your supervision. Correct? Since your (clawed or not) cat is fed butched animals from a can, the cat owner feels...

    Can anybody explain ?

Accept me as your Guru just for one moment. So now I will proclaim to you: Forget what you have read ("heard") about "Geeta" has been edited many times by people, we can see many such related topics on Geeta-editing on net (Google it). btw, I agree with your analysis. That is why I ONLY...

    Can anybody explain ?

In Hindu's Vedic Literatures there are the 'Histories'. These Puranas are filled with 'Family Lineages'. Those 'Family Lineages' are associated with real geographic locations. There is One Supreme God in the General Populace, and that is Krishna. The 'Family Lineages' of the Devas (Gods...

    Opposition's to advaita.

illusion is the world of mind-scapes born of ego, which is born of the body and circumstances you are born into. The actions of the past beget a body and parents and stratum of existence. Samsara is a fact of life. All births and their accompanying 'works' simply leads to the continuous...

    Opposition's to advaita.

I believe Krishna is a Personality. God is Krishna. Krishna, God is Personality. Maya is inert matter. We are atmas in the world of matter. The term Advaita is embodied as the singular Godhead. Advaita is an intellectual term. That is all it is. Which sanskrit scripture has...

    Lying to Uphold Ahimsa

Ahimsa (a-himsa) = Non-violence So feeding the cat with meat products (and or by-products) is Himsa. Cats cannot live on a vegetarian diet. I am concerned with your Good Karma, but what your saying is equal to awarding Temple Grandin a Peace Prize for lessons in Butchering with...

    Lying to Uphold Ahimsa

There is a karmic web that entangles those that butchers, cooks and serves others by serving them foods made of other ground-up animals. There it is a lot of karma to be concerned with. Please read this An Excerpt From The Book "Food Pets Die For" Written by Ann N. Martin An Excerpt...

Is Hinduism Polytheistic, Pantheistic, or what?

This is very upsetting for me to read. If a catholic visitor wants clarification, then I have made it clear. I do not seek to upset anyone. It is a scholar's view point. Because so few posters actually read the Vedic Literatures only snipits get rave attention. I represented the whole...

Is Hinduism Polytheistic, Pantheistic, or what?

There is One "God" in Hindu's Vedic Scriptures. There are millions of Lords in Hindu's Vedic Scriptures. Those lords are demigods (devas). The demigods, ie Indra, Brahma, etc are superintendents within the material creation of time (kala) and space (akasha). When all of the material...
