The NIV uses 'in your midst'. The NRSV uses 'among you'.
One Dutch bible (NBV) opts for 'within your reach'.
Different meanings. Is this a difficult verse to translate I wonder?
I don't know if God wills anything about every aspect of my life. Jesus however seemed to put much emphasis on neighbourly love. So if what we do is driven by loving kindness for each other, I think we are one step closer to the divine.
I seek Christ all by myself. Although I have been contemplating attending the local International Protestant Church. They seem like a progressive bunch. I can see the beauty in celebrating God's love together.
If this has been discussed with the congregation and he shows repentance for his actions then I think he should be allowed to serve. However, if people he wronged are within the parish he served it may not be a good idea for him to remain specifically there. Maybe he can serve somewhere else?
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds...
I was baptised as an infant into the Roman Catholic Church. Even though I formally left the church, I still accept the symbolic value of the sacrament. Having another baptism would make sense to me though, should I have the wish to rededicate or something, but I wouldn't think of it as necessary.

This led me to examine some Linux...

While it can be said that nations without a state religion can be called secular nations, we do have to look the deeper mechanics. Important in this perspective is how the state relates to the different religions. I will take Belgium as an example here...
