what are the possible affects of gay marriage?

Sometimes the purpose of sex is pleasure and not procreation. I do not know your individual beliefs, but if you believe oral sex and birth control are fine then you recognize sex can be for pleasure alone and it would be hypocritical to say anal sex is wrong. If you believe birth control and...

Evolution, as many percieve it, is wrong.

It depends how specific you want the labels to get. Well you are no fun =) So you do not think that there are a finite number of things that can happen in evolution? Can you give an example of something new to happen in evolution that hasn't happened before? I realize evolution is still going...

Evolution, as many percieve it, is wrong.

So evolution is more complicated than flipping a coin therefore it is unpredictable? There are a set number of things that can happen with the evolution of a species. The size can change, speed, environment it lives in, etc. But these things can be listed out on a piece of paper. We can...

    prove me wrong on evolution

So your answer, after all of this, is "God will do it"? So why hasn't God helped us out yet to create Eden? Why hasn't God helped us with the global warming we created? Why will he magically help us when we take what He created and shape it to better suit ourselves rather than keep it the way...

    Can religion be logical?

No no, I meant the BS part didn't mean bull ****. I, for some reason, get that alot. :-) Fiance tried to do philosophy and she felt it was too hard... She's sticking with her psychology and english majors instead. I know it isn't a joke degree.

    prove me wrong on evolution

I might have missed it... But in any of these last 3 posts did you show how you are going to increase Nitrogen into the atmosphere at the same rate as the oxygen?
  7. Ryan2065

    prove me wrong on evolution

So do rain forests currently use up all the oxygen they produce? You need to give some evidence that this will happen (say get some stats that show the rainforest uses most of the oxygen it produces) So the increase in rain forests are going to change the temperature in a very predictable...

Evolution, as many percieve it, is wrong.

So what would you call a system where you cannot predict the outcome?
  9. Ryan2065

    prove me wrong on evolution

Now you just aren't making sense... So we would still have deserts? This ideal world of yours... What percent of the land do rain forests cover?
  10. Ryan2065

    prove me wrong on evolution

The current percentage of CO2 in the earths atmosphere is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_dioxide#Carbon_dioxide_in_the_Earth.27s_atmosphere What we did was we raised the % of CO2 in the atmosphere to at most .06% and it caused lots of problems. You don't see a problem with raising the %...

    Can religion be logical?

And I know that you are wrong. If what you say is a fact and not a belief, you should be able to prove that I am wrong and you are right. I am pretty positive you cannot prove that you have lived previous lives and haven't died when your body did, therefore you believe this.

Evolution, as many percieve it, is wrong.

But if you cannot predict the outcome of a process it is random (well this is how I interpret the definition of random). Because you cannot predict if a creature is going to grow bigger, get a different color, not change at all, etc, etc, etc you cannot predict what the outcome is going to be...

    prove me wrong on evolution

Things wrong with your argument: 1) Nitrogen and oxygen make up the atmosphere. If you increase the oxygen you need to increase the nitrogen some way. 2) Evolution takes thousands of years to give results. Creatures that live in the desert will not be able to realistically live in the rain...

    Can religion be logical?

Do you not believe a human is an immortal spiritual being?
  15. Ryan2065

Evolution, as many percieve it, is wrong.

So wouldn't evolution be random but natural selection follow the predictable patterns?
  16. Ryan2065

    prove me wrong on evolution

I suggest you do the same... This is not what I'm saying... Everyone says trees are good for the environment... Your point is to cover the earth in trees... This is not what people mean when they say trees are good. Would you agree drinking water is good for the human body? I don't think...

    prove me wrong on evolution

So we have a machine now to control the wind that pushes the clouds away from these new rain forests? It would take many many years for species of animals to actually evolve (by many I mean thousands)... Is that the time frame for humans changing their own environment? Thousands of years?
  18. Ryan2065

    organic farming

And this is good why? There are many countries that will not allow genetically engineered crops to be grown there because they are afraid of things in the crops that are simply not there. These crops are genetically engineered to grow in environments that normally would not allow crops to grow...

    Huh? Mormons do math? :angel2:

    prove me wrong on evolution

Just off the top of my head... many deserts are created because the clouds that should carry the water to them are blocked by mountains. We would need to get rid of the mountains first to do this. Also, "purification" means killing of many species of animals that require desert conditions to live.
