    Not Understanding and Not Agreeing

True, if that is indeed the case.

"keep an open mind"...what does that really mean?

IMO, skepticism, in its truest form, requires an open mind.

    Not Understanding and Not Agreeing

I comprehend just fine, thank you.

    Not Understanding and Not Agreeing

But the one doing the disagreeing will likely tell you they understand perfectly. The claim that they don't understand is usually based on the opinion of others. In the end, who you think understands and who you think doesn't, probably depends on who you yourself agree with and who you don't.

    There you go again.

    Not Understanding and Not Agreeing

You're doing the same thing as those you're criticizing, but in reverse. This person sees it as somebody else not understanding, and you see it as this person not understanding.

This may be a dumb question but...

Which is why I never plant trees that have devils slithering around in them. I think the simple point I was trying to make at the start of this has pretty much been left by the roadside.

This may be a dumb question but...

It was not the act of planting the tree that was the problem, but Adam and Eve's disobedience.

This may be a dumb question but...

I'm no expert on this, but I'm of the impression that God could be seen until Adam and Eve were rebuked over that whole "fall" business. Just a guess, but aren't there members of royalty through the ages who have referred to themselves, individually, as "we" and "us"?

This may be a dumb question but...

To encourage the child to take responsibility for his/her actions.

This may be a dumb question but...

And yet, messes happen. The fact that they do does not distinguish a good parent from a bad one.

This may be a dumb question but...

The Sum Of Awe said "if".

This may be a dumb question but...

What parent hasn't asked their kid "did you make that mess?", knowing full well he/she did?

How is it possible for Christianity to make sense?

Christianity is fine, IMO, but many Christians are very poor representatives of their faith. Gandhi said something similar, but I can't remember what it was. :o

How is it possible for Christianity to make sense?

Apparently there are only certain responses that you are willing to accept for your questions. In an open discussion, that's a bit unrealistic.

    my___ R&P Migration Thread

No idea how I did it, but I've finally joined the ranks of refugees who are banned from Friendburst. I have a theory that they see R&P refugees as "the wrong sort" for their site, and they're attempting to blackball all of us as they sort us out. Since the site wasn't that great in the first...

    Mystical Experience

I believe that's what makes it a mystical experience, by definition.

    Homosexuality not included.

There's no bonus points in my thread, buster. Unless you send baked goods. Cinnamon rolls with that gooey caramel on them are a bonus point jackpot.
