    ASP: How Fast Are You Moving When You Are Sitting Still? Its common sense. The planets travel in a spiral following the sun. If they didn't follow the sun they would be left behind BTW The sun has a lot of gravitational pull. It amazes me that some people don't know even the basics of astronomy.
