Baptist Preacher Uses Book of Mormon and Bible

Hello my friends. I was originally going to post this in the LDS DIR. But I realized there may be other Christians that would find this man and what he preaches fascinating. His name is Lynn Ridenhour and here is a link to his YouTube channel. I was raised as part of "The Church of Jesus Christ...

    Christians: Is Sola Scriptura Biblical?

As someone who believes in The Book of Mormon as another witness of Jesus Christ I find this topic interesting. Usually my Christian friends who are concerned for my soul’s welfare try to explain to prove to me that anything outside of the Bible is categorically false. I’m not interested in...

Yeah. I don’t really have a computer and a phone is such a frustrating way to try and communicate immense ideas lol. BTW you’re awesome. I’ve been learning so much. “We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all exploring will be to arrive at the place we started and to know it for the...

    Going back to Raelism

Dude, why does it have to be one or the other? The whole idea of Mormonism (as Joseph Smith founded it anyway) is to accept truth wherever it may be found. The Book of Mormon being true doesn't conflict with other inspired or divine sources. :)

    Hi

Ah thanks Quintessence. I just needed time for it to register.

    Hi

Hey Guys! I am stopping in after a long absence. Sadly, it seems I don’t have sufficient privileges to post in my DIR forum lol. So I thought I’d say hi here. I’m a unique person theologically. I’ve been raised LDS. I believe that the LDS Church is true, but whether or not it is or isn’t...

    "JEHOVAH'S" witnesses and Revelation 12:17

You bring up a great point. The apostles claimed to have authority from God. The people believed they were called by Jesus Christ to be his apostles. The Watchtower (as far as I know) claims no such authority. Their authority is the belief that their interpretation of the bible represents God's...

    "JEHOVAH'S" witnesses and Revelation 12:17

The Watchtower urges people to read the Bible and gain understanding of God's commandments. They teach us to seek God's will and God's kingdom. I don't think they are waging "war against all those who keep God's commands."

Oh HAHA. I looked at your recent activity and it was some post about July 2013 for 3 in a row. I thought that meant your last activity was 2 years ago. Phew...

    NO KATZPUR WTF???!!!

Man I thought I could always come here and find Katzpur here, doing her thing. Are there any active LDS members anymore? I used to love this place. Then School/Work/Life happened and I forgot about it...

Does scripture from the bible support the LDS church?

Guys this is all wonderful stuff! One of my favorite teachings of Paul is this: 26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8

A Difficult Trial of my Faith

Thanks Katzpur. I'm so happy to have the gospel in my life. Last night I was talking to my friend who is a converted atheist of ~ 1.3 years. We were talking about all the evidences of the truthfulness of the gospel. One of them is the way the closer we get to the Spirit, the more everything...

Does scripture from the bible support the LDS church?

I honestly can't. And I've considered it a bit. One possibility is that (3) is incorrect. I believe (3) but I'm not 100% convinced. I believe that God revealed the Book of Abraham through Joseph Smith. It could have been that he erroneously thought he was translating the manuscript. Another...

Does scripture from the bible support the LDS church?

I do. I don't really want to debate it much because I don't think I'm very well qualified. But since you ask: Papyrus: It has been shown that the writings on the manuscript bear no resemblance to the Book of Abraham. I accept this. What conclusions people draw from this is up to them. I...

Does scripture from the bible support the LDS church?

Great post! How uplifting. I, for one, believe very sincerely in the ministration of angels. Though I have never physically seen one, I have felt their influence, aid, and protection many times. Terry, as a fellow Christian brother, thank you for your wonderful example. It's great seeing...

Does scripture from the bible support the LDS church?

If you really want people to address your ideas and engage you seriously you should change your tone. It's a rare kind of person who will engage in conversation with someone who is openly hostile and condescending. If your intent is to confirm to yourself your infinitely superior intellect and...

A Difficult Trial of my Faith

Hey guys! Long time no see. :) Glad to see my favorite people still out and about! This summer I had a really difficult time dealing with some questions I had. For a time I believed I would be leaving the church and most likely ending up atheist or agnostic. I love the gospel more than...

    where are the miracles?

So the lack of miracles signifies a lack of faith. That quote is found in Moroni 7.
