    Things happen for a reason.

"knowing that our real life didn't start yet and we are only taking a test" If this quote is taken seriously, then all live events are just tests. Then, it would be right to say all that happened is for a reason. Reasons we are not privy to, but to just accept. This is even more gravely...

    Things happen for a reason.

Example. I believe most Christians (of every denominations) says to have faith in Christ/God and that only shall be their salvation. Some if have such strong faith that they will not consult doctors on their illnesses because God will take care and ensure their well-being. The sickness or...

    Things happen for a reason.

Thank you for the video. I get it that one need to have faith in Islam, then the belief comes to accept whatever that happen is the doing of Allah. Yes, but all religions say that too. Faith in your given religion means the deeper belief to put your hands in their God.

    What Happens When You Die?

He may be correct to say that we return to where we always are. But this finality is only for those enlightened ones in the present lives. Most of us will just be reborn again and again into another form of life until we finally realize enlightenment - as he does?

Thank you indeed. It does help. Though I read these before I can't quite point a finger at the source bk/verses. I do like to have an Islam perspective also.

How do you live out your Buddhism?

I pretty much live how most other people live. I attempt to avoid doing bad deeds relying on the 5 precepts as guide. I meditate to at least achieve some level of calmness and un-stress after a long day. I study on the Buddhist teachings. I go to nearby temple as often as possible (usually...

    Things happen for a reason.

I often hear Muslims and Christians say "Things happen for a reason" when some bad incidents happen to an individual. Why, and please support this teaching from religions?

    Gogly visitations

Do you mean the Buddha and his disciples were in a different stages of mind when they were talking and seeing these heavenly figures, like we would called the half-way house people "crazy?"
  16. S

    Gogly visitations

There are many stories , during the Buddha's time of visitations by heaven beings (devattas) to the Buddha and his disciples for questioning and learning. Why is it that we haven't heard of such visitations in modern times to enlightened or at least near-enlightened Buddhists.

    Spouses

Quite a different answer from that of Bob's. And how would you get his permission and how would you really know that you had it?

    Spouses

Not the "dead" or "the soul is eternal thing" could well explain the resurrection phenomenon of all living beings not just Jesus. In a sense, we all will resurrect (eventually) without our former identities, thus the non-relationship between spouses, and for that matter between parents and...
