Mankind turned it's back on God and so God turned His back on mankind. When we try to live without God we must face the consequences. We do not allow God in school so how can He protect children there. God allows thing to happen because people do not allow Him to control things His way.
So why only a trinity? What about John 1:1 which says "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Wouldn't that make a fourth "person". Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and Word? We have to invent a new word to replace Trinity and indicate one God in four "persons."
Can anyone help me understand something in the Nicene Creed? One line says "we believe in one lord, Jesus Christ" A little later another line says "we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord" So Jesus is the one lord but the Holy Spirit is the Lord. How can there be only one lord if both Jesus and...
Some of the ancient pagans had a statue to "the unknown god" just in case they were wrong in their beliefs. Maybe we need some way to allow for all religions to be covered just in case the non believers are wrong.
wishing everyone a happy winter holiday. too bad we can't say Christmas for fear of offending someone who does not believe. some people are too easily offended. I am offended that their preferences outweigh mine.
sorry, but I don't think a watch will ever make itself in nature. Even if you have a whole room full of watch parts they will never come together in just the right way to make a watch. it requires a watchmaker
post 474 says what can't be explained by science will not be explained by anything. Maybe the reason it can't be explained by science is because God can't be explained by science.
Anyone want to start a new website called "atheist forums"? It seems there a a lot of atheists on this site. Why they would want to debate religion when they don't believe in God or the Bible is anybody's guess. Maybe it's more fun than gay bashing or dwarf tossing.
Wikipedia talks about the "cell theory". It says that in this SCIENTIFIC theory all cells come from existing cells. But evolution says that the first cells came from some chemical soup in a primordial swamp. So how can science have it both ways? Cells come from pre existing cells but cells came...
Reminds me of a couple verses in I Corinthians - one says "the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God" and the other "the foolishness of God is wiser than men" All these "brilliant" scientists think they know all the answers and God is laughing at their foolishness.
In answer to dirty penguin's tag line about what's more likely - how about an all powerful, mysterious god created the universe and gave all kinds of proof to those who would open their eyes to see it.
