I'm definitely agnostic. Which is why I just changed my religion. I love the Abrahamic religions but I hate ignorant people who judge people for believing or not believing in a myth.
When I think about the existence of God I just feel blank. Does this mean I'm an atheist? I like to consider myself at least Abrahamic since I like the mythology and I read the Bible and the Qur'an.
I'm only asking because I live with a bunch of ignorant people. Should I care?
The second article of the Shahada isn't Quranic. It developed as Islam grew and solidified. Some modern Muslim groups such as the United Submitters International and others labeled "Quranists"reject the second article as an invention of the early Muslim community and as a form of idolatry.
I never called the video "Zionist" in any way. The person who uploaded it on YouTube did. I actually came across the video listening to Israeli hip-hop. I only clicked on the recommendation because of the girl. The original video I saw had dozens of comments from Christians going ******* over...
It's written in Hebrew actually. And the Assyrians spoke a dialect of Akkadian, they wouldn't adopt Aramaic until later.
I don't think the Torah ever says Noah was Mesopotamian. Although the ancient Hebrews borrowed some of their traditions and mythologies from Mesopotamia (it was kind of hard...
Are there any ancient writers (Christian, Jew, pagan, or otherwise) who believed that Jesus was a mythical figure? If so, could somebody present quotes of the relevant passages?
I know that the mythicist hypothesis has been beaten to death, but as far as I know it came about in the 18th...
I'm only speaking from personal experience, honestly. I know couples who have been together for 40+ years and have never been married. The bartender where I work has been with her boyfriend consistently for 46 years and they have children and grandchildren together. Sorry if I hit a nerve, but...
Marriage itself is a pointless institution. If gay people want to fight for an institution that is meaningless to them and everybody else, more power to them. I see no point crying about something that should have been done away with 500 years ago. It's a fact that unmarried couples can be just...
I'm not sure if this belongs in this thread, but I have a question that's related to the topic. I recently discovered that I have Jewish ancestry on my mother's side. I've never researched my family history before, so it surprised me when I found out that my great-great grandmother was a German...
Part of the allure of illegal drugs is that they are illegal. Any drug has negative side-effects when misused. Tylenol is the leading cause of liver disease in this country, and yet you can buy it over-the-counter. Everybody who does drugs knows the danger involved. Strip away the criminal...
If she had any type of conscious at all she'd kill herself. Either way, she'll need to watch her ***. People don't take to kindly to baby-killers.
It's kind of horrible, but after seeing the verdict earlier I've had that Alice Cooper song stuck in my head.
Moses and Elijah and other prophets also performed miracles. Does that make them Yahweh also?
So you're saying you put more faith in the Church than you do Jesus and God? If the Church says it, it's final? The chain of succession between Jesus and the Church is anything but solid.
I guess God has better things to worry about than what Christians read, considering Christianity is the only religion that has no standardized set of Scripture. The Ethiopian Bible contains 81 books compared to the Protestant 66, and Catholic 73. Not to mention the different canons of the...
