    Your Gods

To me God is God. I wrap my head around the idea of God in relationship to Christianity. I respect the fact that others need to do so in different ways. Regardless of how one does so, in a monotheistic or polytheistic manner, God is God.

    Universal monotheism

I would. God is God regardless of the number of personalities one requires God to take on, be that millions or none.

Why do warrior religions lose the religious war?

What he's saying makes a lot of sense. The problem is that you are looking at the action of Christians as an outward expression of the Christian religion. What you are actually seeing is residual influence of the warrior religions Christianity replaced. Christianity promised heaven for everyone...

Muslims do not worship the same god as the Christians

I said that wrong. God didn't evolve but the Hebrew's understanding of God evolved. Compare the way God is portrayed in the first four chapters of the OT, the way He is portrayed in books of Kings and the Chronicles and then the way he is portrayed in the prophets, especially the minor prophets.

Muslims do not worship the same god as the Christians

You would have to ask Him. I'm just looking at it from the way God evolves throughout the Old Testament and how the Jewish beliefs matured from a polytheistic society to a monotheistic society. I've heard some very convincing explanations as to how there is no inconsistencies in the belief...

Muslims do not worship the same god as the Christians

This was a time of conversion from polytheism to monotheism, from many local gods to one universal God. In these commandments God was acknowledging the reality that man had made other gods to worship in their search for Him.

Muslims do not worship the same god as the Christians

There is only one so there can be no others.

Muslims do not worship the same god as the Christians

And that's why I see Jews, Muslims and Christians worshiping the same God.

Muslims do not worship the same god as the Christians

What did the Norsemen know of the Ten Commandments? Most of them listened to the early Christian missionaries and accepted Christianity. The Norse gods were, and still are for some, a way the Germanic people related to God through their folk tales.

Muslims do not worship the same god as the Christians

The Quran also tells us that Jesus was a messenger from God and the Messiah. The Quran mentions Jesus more than it does Muhammad (PBUH). The Quran also tells us that Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary and will return to Earth one day to defeat the Antichrist. And on the count of the Quran denying...

Muslims do not worship the same god as the Christians

Did I say that? The contents of the Quran are the Quran. The prophet's revelations are what makes him a prophet. Do I accept all of his revelations as relevant to me? No. Neither are all of Isaiah's revelations relevant to me. But I also view Rick Warren as a prophet and A Purpose Driven...

Muslims do not worship the same god as the Christians

As a Christian I do recognize the Quran and the prophet, just not in the same way a follower of Islam would. The Quran is a book that was inspired by God and Muhammad (PBUH) was a prophet of God. I don't believe him to be the last prophet of God, though. I also believe that all the Śruti...

    Mortality

I don't fear death, I fear dying. Its a fear I can face, though.

Muslims do not worship the same god as the Christians

I believe that most Christians believe in the Trinity, that God is one in three persons, that Jesus is fully God and fully Man. If that is the case then God most surely can manifest himself fully in this world. That also means that if Jesus is our intercessor for God then God, Himself, is his...

Muslims do not worship the same god as the Christians

Ask three different people to describe in detail a common friend and you are going to get three different descriptions. They may be similar but there will be differences. Does that mean that common friend is actually three different people?

What do you personally think of Paganism?

Did I do that or did I describe Christianity as another way of worshiping the Pagan Gods? :) My own belief is that God is God, not Christian, Muslim, Hindu or Pagan. It is Man who has created religions, not God. So with that in mind maybe your quote from Full Metal Jacket is appropriate. The...

What is the Purpose of Meditation for You?

For me, meditation compliments prayer. Prayer is me talking to God while meditation is me listening to God.

    The Book of Enoch

Since God created Man in His own image I think it would be more accurate to phrase that as Humans act just like God.

What do you personally think of Paganism?

:) I don't know, I've been saved from boredom, saved from dating the wrong girl, saved from buying a lemon off a used car lot. I think there are a lot of things one can be saved from and all of us have something. For me, Christianity saved me from a pretty meaningless life. I also got something...
