I think it is mostly that Hellenism is incompatible with KO, a separate though slightly similar belief-system. KO's try to believe what was believed by the Ancient Egyptians themselves.
I think it is easy to expand them beyond the border of Kemet. The Egyptian gods, while many were focused around the Nile river, can apply anywhere in any time period.
