No, it comes down to zealotry. Heretics have been claiming God doesn't exist for centuries; evolution theory just gives them new evidence with which to do so. I'm with Deut on this one - I'm not going to say He doesn't exist, I just don't think it's especially possible.
Wow.. how would one convert another to atheism?
Too often I find myself defending my choice, rather than explaining it. That's probably not the best way to go.. I'd say "Good example," but it's very difficult to present a good example when atheists in America are portrayed as evil characters.
It's depressing to even think about it. If you took the pill, you'd probably have to swear never to have children. Otherwise, there'd be an exponential increase in population unparalleled in history... and we'd all end up dead, anyway.
Even if you did get to live forever, I probably would...
Quite a blurry line between 'music' and 'biological function.' How certain are you that rhythm started in the womb? Does that explain why some people have 'better rhythm' - those whose mothers regularly changed their heart rates have better (or worse) abilities than the rest of us?
A good...
At least, according to Popper. That's not a perfect line of demarcation by any means. However, what you point out is perfectly true - and there's no reason to include ID under the banner of science when it relies on the supernatural.
AND CONGRATULATIONS!!! POST #500!!!!!!
You sound like...
I like how Bhakthi has only replied to the Biblical "is Jesus God?" questions while ignoring those of us who called him for proselytizing. Way to cherry-pick!
Point them out to me sometime, would you? I don't think I've ever spotted hell on a map or seen Satan drive by in a Mercedes.
Why, in all His powers, can God not instantly judge everyone? Why would you 'await' judgment?
Are you a big believer in eternal torment and punishment? I can't...
To that I would reply that a mental effect is usually caused by a physical effect. I'm no neuroscientist, but I think that even trying to recall past events or imagining things requires neural activity. Think MRI scans. Mental effects are never 'independent' of physical events in that regard.
And you're talking about it in a very biased way, which is why I responded with that post. I, personally, think there's something 'fundamentally wrong' with EVERY holy doctrine; I do not agree that Islam, out of all the others, is any more prone to inciting violence than any other religion...
No, I meant when you said "don't take anyone's word." You told us all not to listen to anyone telling us that they have the truth, then proceeded to tell us about the truth.
