Does Small Government mean small military?

With all the rhetoric about lowering taxes and making the government smaller, does that mean those who say this, want a smaller military? Or is the goal for the military to be more powerful than the government? Not really a good idea imho. Or is the goal anarchy? Or is there no real long...

What was the thorn in the Apostle Paul's flesh?

Literal? It's actually not biblical to read the bible literally. Paul was using a metaphor. Therefore it is not literal. I imagine a person who had mystic visions like Paul would be deeply dismayed at people today who read scriptures literally. I do not know the literal meaning of his thorn...

Is Ayn Rand the McDonald's Hamburger of American Philosophers?

The thread title points to an obvious fact that her popularity has less to do with her work, and more to do with her audience. It's no secret why the American Consumer Imperialistic culture loves her stuff. If you have an intelligent person working out intelligent reasons why you can be a...

    Christian help?

You should definitely research, but I also recommend praying to Jesus. Even if you are unsure, doubt his existence.. prayer is the single strongest spiritual connection we have with God. I'm going to go out on a limb and recommend the NIV (New International Version)

"Poor Joseph. God was a hard act to follow."

I have nothing against emotionally mature Atheists on the internet. I know one. I tend to find the ones off the internet more agreeable to talk to. Or maybe that's just people in general?

"Poor Joseph. God was a hard act to follow."

Emotionally immature people will love it. Just another thing 'Marketing' people are doing to destroy culture and decency. Now what other faiths can we mock today? The 12 year old (Emotional Maturity Age) Atheists are loving this one.
