My Question How much does North African and Abrahamic mysticism influence Wicca and is it part of the basis of Wicca, i.e does one need to believe and practise this to be a part of a Wiccan Coven. Hi All, After a long long time away I am back, Still the same, following Dharmic practises and...

    "Big Tent" Paganism is Collapsing?

I've found that people are being redrawn into Paganism and Wicca. I myself have been away while I was at university but have reconnected with a local group that had about 8 members and is now 12-15 regularly. I do know that in Sydney that Pagan and Wiccan covens are often 'closed' which means...

    My experience in Vrindavan

Yes I was born very close to an ISKCON farm that my parents were living on at the time. Personally since I had almost no contact with my Indian parent I was raised as a westerner basically by my mother and had sporadic exposure that I didn't quite understand. Indian families in Australia tend to...

Tilak/Bindhu/Vibhuti as everyday wear: do you do it?

I do wear Tilak quite often. Being from partial Indian descent people don't usually question it. I go to a university with a large Islamic population and they tend to ask the most questions, such as, "So you follow your religion?". I just say yes. Most people are just curious and I feel white...

I would like some help with finding an english translation for these bhajans

I'm not sure, it probably is, I'm was able to pick up words but especially in songs it can be difficult to know what language it is specifically since they all have a lot of common words and when singing devotional songs there are a lot of lean words from Sanskrit.

I would like some help with finding an english translation for these bhajans

Beautiful Bhajans to Maa Kali. I understand a lot of words but my hindi is pretty rusty so I can't piece together a sentence for you. However they are much like the regular mangal aratis e.g.: Namaste Kali, i pay my oblations to you and your name. You who are the source of divine wisdom etc...

    My experience in Vrindavan

Yes, this is my very first time to Vrindavan AND India. My family is from Yawal, near the Maharashtra/MP/Gujarat boarder and I grew up in australia around the Hare Krishna ISKCON movement. My parents met in ISKCON and married. My mother later accepted a Guru, Narayana Maharaja. So i guess we...

    My experience in Vrindavan

I must apologise if I have offended you. I completely agree that logic is an essential part of our lives, I myself am a scientist and I fully appreciate logic and academic learning. I fully support debate in a material sense when dealing with material matters such as: government, schooling etc...

    My experience in Vrindavan

I do agree about surrendering to Guru, I meant by taking responsibility that we should listen, surrender and associate with our Guru as they supply all that we need to know, Devotion. My problem was only the ignorant culture surrounding our Gurus that sometimes make it hard to follow their...

    My experience in Vrindavan

Oh I don't think people on here do, I mean people in general. This was just a post about my general experience with the devotee community. I grew up amongst a lot of devotees fighting about nit bits said by various gurus. Basically the end result was that I didn't end up learning about the...

    My experience in Vrindavan

Hi all! I have recently returned from a trip to Vrindavan, I stayed in Gaudiya math temples, I must say it was an enlightening experience. I found myself so inspired to follow devotion and it was also very easy to do so. Listening to lectures was much more enjoyable, something in the atmosphere...

    Ballet for everyone

Hi everyone, I was wondering if there are any other dancers on here? I currently am in my last year of a fulltime ballet course studying Vaganova and Bounonville. I thought we could use a thread where we could post some of our favourite videos or photos :) Kj9TYriQOos Ulyana Lopatkina...

    Pagan versus Neopagan

I really just use Pagan. Neopagan is fine as well in my opinion. I think it's when people get involved in deeper conversations that the terms "neopagan" and "pagan" are used a bit more to identify older forms of paganism and their more modern reconstructed form, from paganism which has taken...

    Pagan/Atheist Alliance?

I agree. I remember when I used to be on another pagan/wiccan forum there always was fights between the severe right wing pagans/wiccans and the pagans/wiccans who were so open their brains fell out and still had a chip on their shoulder about the, uh, "burning times" :P. Needless to say the...

    Pagan/Atheist Alliance?

I feel the pain. I know some Pagans who are so right wing they might as well be a part of a southern Baptist evangelical church.

    Pagan/Atheist Alliance?

In my experience and reading, Pagans and atheists rarely fight. In my opinion, atheist most usually have most of their disagreements with large organised religions, most notably Abrahamic religions. I've also noticed that many atheists I talk to simply have no opinion on paganism, that could...

Kitchen Witchery, or the Cottage Witch

From my understanding and readings, Kitchen witchery usually is someone who turns cooking into an act of ritual/worship/spell. Although not one myself I remember reading up on it a while ago. Kitchen witches usually have an understanding of the different properties of herbs and spices, both...

whats your path and why did you choose it

Currently I am a Hindu but also follow paganism. I would like to eventually specify what sort of paganism I follow as I gain more knowledge and see which gods and goddesses I have an affinity with but for now I follow it in a general sense, trying to attain as much knowledge as possible. Where...
