I think that Love is Oneness but I'm not sure how atonement comes into it.
Love your profile pic btw. As of yesterday I have learned what the Sri Yantra is and have been reading up on it.

Sorry for the late reply!
I suppose what I'm getting at is I don't see the point of this purpose of overcoming suffering through realisation over lifetimes if there is no individual soul. Why would the process exist or be necessary of there is no individual? Not to say the concept is wrong, but...
I think that reincarnation is possible but one thing I'm really curious about is whether is happens outside of the soul's control or if the soul chooses to come back.
That doesn't really answer the question though, which remains: is there a reason behind existence or is it all just coincidental? How is any of it even possible?
I personally find any answer to this question spectacularly unfathomable.
Hi all! I've been doing a little reading on Yantras and interestingly, though I grew up in Hinduism, it's never been an emphasised aspect of my religious experience. I was never taught their meaning or significance and I didn't know anyone who kept them in their home or anything like that.

The process of birth, maturation and death only occur in the material existence, according to Hindu religion. Aging is part of the process. We're not talking about the Kingdom of God. Even Hindus believe in a Spiritual existence whereupon the individual exists eternally without aging.
Anyways...
It's certainly not a simple situation with a simple solution. Whichever system is used, there will be problems and people who suffer unfairly. It seems to be a utilitarian ethical dilemma and so it's a matter of understanding which system has a higher 'good' balance and I suppose that's...
I agree. It's probably a bad translation. Shiva is most certainly not similar to the Abrahamic 'devil'.
Sure. My explanation was simplistic for easy understanding. Death is not necessary for a baby to be born. However that baby is born, matures, and dies one day. Each phase is associated...
I think that my post presented good reasoning without any notion of revenge. I don't thin that revenge is a good reason. But I do believe in protecting society whilst also believing that life in prison is not a viable option.
So I have two arguments for the death penalty (in very specific...
I do actually, but only for those who are truly a danger to the lives of others. Like serial killers, terrorists etc. And only if proven beyond reasonable doubt.
The reason I voted yes is because I don't see life imprisonment or the potential for their release back into society as reasonable...
