    I've made a mistake. The term "people's militia" is mentioned in most sources describing the Basij. I assume the term means "a militia composed of the people", rather than "a militia for the people". My bad. (If I'm still wrong please correct me.)

    I see where you're coming from actually. However, the Basij has also given the opposition a martyr and a name to chant, which seems only to have fuelled the fires of contempt in the people's hearts.

I hardly think extinguishing this woman will have much effect on the safety of the ruling class, and I suspect the idiot who killed her knew that.
