sorry for the confusion kiwiman. what i meant by might is right is that the strongest make the rules. the strongest get that way by proving their power. war is a universal language anyone can understand when proving one's power. human's love power - and war is a means to an end.
my heart goes out to you ceridwen018. mums are incredibly difficult creatures to contend with, at the best of times - but i guess you will never know just how much until you are one. you sound wise for your 17 years though.
as for knowledge vs. wisdom - i believe that wisdom is - knowledge...
morals are a good thing to have. . . although - one man's treasure is another man's rubbish. what i may treasure, someone else may see as nonsense. that's life i guess.
well said netdoc. may i elaborate on that? thankyou, yes there is a purpose for human existence.
on the basic level : it is to find sustenance (physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual etc) and shelter, as you do.
on a higher level : it is to discover one's true self. ( find out what...
maltheism . . sounds interesting. have to admit, it's the first time i've heard of it. an evil god not worthy of worship? why waste your time not worshipping something that is not there?
truer words were never spoken. moderntechnology is just a tool, it has made life more comfortable and easier - but life is empty and meaningless . . . and then you have kids. life after that has more meaning than a web has sites.
i would like to resurrect this thread if i may. nothing is constant, everything changes. a god that changes from age to age to suit the perceptions of the dominant people of a particular land . . . is not a god, but a creation of humans. why do i say this? because god is one - not many. i do not...
pascal's wager - for the atheist (me). if i wager there is no god and then i die to find out there is a god then i lose out. i still wager there is no god. why? because when i die and there is a god - who will i see? the muslim god? the christian god? the jewish god? the hindu god? etc. which...
for me you can not put a price on life. and yes life is worth preserving - but of course the right kind of life. murderers, paedophiles, rapists, wife-beaters, husband-beaters, child-beaters, people who force men, women and children into slavery ( forced-prostitution, forced-labour, forced...
my two cents . . .i am a heterosexual. when i was younger and a devout christian ( 20 yrs ago ) i believed homosexuality was a sin ( also because this was reinforced to me by my strict father). i in fact hated and despised them ( not very christian of me i know. ). until my brother had a son who...
thankyou once again master vigil. " each god is a different perception ... but still same god" ? nicely said. i particularly like the words " a different perception from different cultures ..." because that is what god essentially is . . . a perception of the different cultures of the same mass...
thankyou master vigil. If we don't learn about the south pole does it exist? . . . very well put. but which south pole? if god exists, which god? if god is almighty, why is he/she fragmented on earth? (muslim, christian, jew, hindu, greek gods( zeus, apollo, mercury . . .) - which god?)
i'm sorry my friend but god does not exist. why? because of a few simple questions. if god is not taught to the masses will he exist? (no) why would god need to be taught to exist? (how else would people know about him?) if he is truely a god, then why would he have to be taught to the world for...
