To me it seems like the process would be extremely subjective, especially when it comes to interpreting dreams or interpreting signs in order to figure out where to even start looking. When it comes to testing the children, I imagine it would be difficult for them to be entirely objective. If I...
I was going to suggest you look into the Baha'i Faith, which is progressive on many points, but then I remembered the religion finds homosexuality to be unacceptable (I guess you can't have it all).
If you've moved past adherence to Islamic beliefs, would you really be happy rejoining that same...
7-10 days!?! Most of the books in the Bible are extremely dry and boring so trying to read it in 7-10 days sounds like a week of self inflicted torture.
Having said that, I prefer the New American Bible (revised edition) because it includes the deuterocanonical books, is a very good English...
If you want a spiritual community that does not have a religious creed, I'd suggest going to a Unitarian Universalist Church. To me it sounds like you would fit right in.
No you're not. He's demonstrated that he is a typical democrat. A moderate fooling everyone that he's liberal, all the while suckling the same corporate tit as Republicans. Now I fear he will lean further to the right in order to appeal to the deluded masses.
Republicans will toot their horns (paid for by their corporate bankrollers). Democrats will make lame excuses for losing. Then two years of deadlock followed by the apocalypse. :)
Do you even know what Nader has accomplished in his activist career? To call him a tosser and an idiot is extremely imbecilic. Please go educate yourself if you don't already know. Here's an easy start:

It's the same as everything else...people always find ways of justifying just about everything they do, no matter what the action or thought is.
It astonishes me as well that so many Christians can completely ignore Jesus' teachings. How many Christians are in the armed-forces? How many...
I played through the tutorial. It seems like a good solid game so it's staying on my hard drive. I'll have to play it some more after I finish the 10 other games I have started but haven't completed lol.
I think she can be a bit biased towards Islam. It seems like she praises Islam for its good parts, but at times she fails to mention the bad too. Didn't really show when reading A History of God but when I read Muhammad: A Biography of the Prophet it was a little apparent.
Just something to be...
Lol...
I read A History of God which is an excellent book. Well worth the time it takes to read. Unfortunately it only covers Judaism, Christianity, and Islam but I imagine if it covered the eastern religions the book would be twice its current size.
Yeah, you're right, I do have preconceptions. The only other experiences I have had are Catholic masses and Baha'i celebrations. Going from religions that have very defined beliefs and practices to the UU which has very little definition, is a huge change. My expectation (after leaving...
Atotalstranger, I believe you are assuming that the afterlife is the same as the life in this reality.
In the afterlife we are no longer limited by our human constraints. I conjecture it will be a completely different reality, so far different from this one that no one can really explain it...
I went to a local UU church for a few weeks and stopped going recently. The main reasons I no longer go is that I felt there was really no spirituality to be found there. I think it's a problem of catering to too many different faiths and the attempt to avoid taking any position on faith. There...
Hehe, the article completely backs up what you are saying:
The website where that survey comes from is really interesting by the way.

Don't contestants get asked loaded questions quite often?
How would we be toast? The USA military budget makes up almost half of the entire world's military budget. Are you saying we would be toast simply because the Lord willed it?
The first time I saw the commercial for Godfather 2 I honestly thought it was for the PSP. The graphics look terrible for being on the 360 and PS3. Even the gameplay looked awful. I expected a lot more coming from EA.
