Is it fair to judge people based on their intelligence?

I agree with the above two posts. They show how intelligence is near impossible to quantify. Scoring high on an IQ tests proves that you're good at IQ tests... nothing more (IMO).

Is it fair to judge people based on their intelligence?

I'm not so convinced that intelligence isn't a skill. I used to be a complete idiot... but now I'm just a bit of a dumb-***. I think a lot of it is learning how to learn - that's the real skill that determines academic success in my experience and I think it's something that's over-looked in our...

What are your favorite breakfast foods?

Beans, bacon and eggs on toast with a nice coffee. Though I usually don't have time for that and so go with porridge with honey and usually a bannana, an apple and some grapes after with a cup of Earl Grey.

    Any Runners Here?

I started running over the Christmas holidays, I loved it. I went a few times with a friend of mine for motivation so it was a good chance to socialise as well as keep fit. We used to run for a bit, then walk and talk and then run some more. Well, my friend went back to London for the last...

PC on in my bedroom while I sleep

It's just a waste of electricity to leave it on over night, otherwise I'd do the same.

    Math Question

It's not 3(127). If you wish to multiply by the division you add the multiplied value to the numerator. So 6/3(127) =(6(127))/3

    Math Question

I meant specifically that an integer other than zero = 0.

    Math Question

Odd, I don't think I've ever been given a question that results in 0 = anything.

    Math Question

I see so if you have, for example, -[10+4x] you effectively have -1[10+4x] and since you have to expand the brackets by multiplying all the internal terms by the external ones you get -10-4x?

    Math Question

    5-12x = 8-7x-[6/3(2+5^3)+5x] 5-12x+7x = 8-[6/3(127)+5x] 5-5x = 8-[254+5x] 5-8-5x = -254+5x -3-5x = -254+5x -5x = -254+3+5x -10x = -251 x = 25.1 Knowing me there's a glaring fault in there somewhere, but *shrugs* [/2 cents].

Co2 output could avert next Ice Age?

I don't think geo-engineering is something to be delved into until our understanding of the Earths environmental mechanics is totally accurate. At present I think our best option is to simply minimise our current impact on the planet and adapt to any natural environmental changes, rather than...

    Is there heresy in Buddhism?

I was doing some research into the Pali canon. There were a group of 'heretical' monks within the community (or Sangha... I think?) which brought about the second council of Elders where more rules and guides were stipulated... I think. So I'm going to go with a hesitant yes, stephenw.
