Why Can't People Accept Other Views?

many buddhists don't even go to a temple, as there is no "worship" to some of us, so don't worry about the hug thing, rudeness is an artificial product of structure and society anyways.

Why Can't People Accept Other Views?

I'm sorry people are making fun of jesus, Dallas, but remember that every religion has it's skeptics. Some people think the Buddha was a fat jolly man that sat under a tree for 20 years, but that's not what he was.

Why Can't People Accept Other Views?

Not everybody is close minded. Others may have "powerful experiences," and they forget to use logic to explain it. It's not that they are dumb, they just "feel" like they are right and are blinded by their own ego.

What do you/do you not like about Mormonism?

    Transcendent Truth

Humans determine what is right by seeing the effects of their decisions. If some actions creates a negative impact, well then it's bad, or vice versa. We don't need a nanny to tell us what's right and wrong, we can figure out those things on our own.

    Is Christianity that bad?

It's not the religion that's bad. It's it's mission....that is to convert every non-christian into a christian. Take the missionaries is africa for example. They can care for the poor, feed the hungry, and help clean thing up WITHOUT trying to convert everyone by just loving their fellow human...

    Christian: Dancing?

Some of the best experiences of my life were dancing. I'll admit, I went to raves quite a bit, but the joy I experienced when I "let go" and just had fun were incredible, and you get to share the experience it with other people.

nope. I'm actually agnostic so there isn't an answer from me. I was interested to see what many of the theist members would say, and the ex-theists as well.

    Vicarious Redemption

If you are waiting on being forgiven, then that act in question still controls you in a sense. Same thing if you are questioning on forgiving somebody who has wronged you. Let go of the negative energy, you may feel better.

    Transcendent Truth

Yeah, but at one time we didn't know where the sun went at night either. It's a problem that can be solved. How? I'm not sure. That's why it's great to have 6.5 billion minds and viewpoints here, we'll eventually figure it out, or die trying.
