Instead of debating the nature of God here, I am inclined to ask you to explain more fully what do you mean by Love? Is Love a caring thing? Is it partisan? Is it detached and allows people to make choices? Is it demanding, and requires obedience like some paternalistic parent? Is it a...
Yes I do believe there is some kind of spiritual existence after death, not necessarily the ones taught by religions. Although not making great claims, I have had some minor experiences that lead me to believe this.
That quote, lilithu, originally posted by Powder 21, it rings so true. I have practised it with my son. I have salvaged that philosophy of "giving an option to choose for yourself, to learn" from the wreckage created by our past family generations insistences and in fact, pseudo-religious...
No theologian here, but it is perfectly simple to see that almost any reasonable human being can usually take responsibility for his/her actions, particularly in the matter of causing pain to others. If I shout at someone vulnerable and cause them pain, I can stop shouting, whether I am angry...
As a UU I really prefer to make a differentiation between the mundane or secular, and the sacred. Otherwise one ends up with every act of one's life (lining up at the bank, tying one's shoelaces, tending to take on a pseudo significance - not to say they do not matter). Prayer or meditation for...
Hi, in answer to your question, I would just like to know a jewish person better and to learn a bit about the jewish point of view. To be frank I am not interested in becoming involved religiously, my wish is more social. I was brought up eclectic in my religion and that suits me.

I am looking for a jewish friend who is not dogmatic or judgemental and may be willing to become an email penpal...
Our church in Toronto also had a water ceremony. Furthermore, we started in September with our new settled Minister, a welcome newcomer to our congregation. We anticipate both new things and old things happening under his leadership.
I read the PanGaia magazine just to get a sense of what Paganism is about. I have to say that with my judaeo-christian background, it is not for me. Everyone has their choice tho, and if paganism is it, then let it be so. Being Earth-centred is a wonderful thing, especially since our Mother...
PantaRhea - I must have missed out on something here. Would you be prepared to say more about Process Theology for our edification? I know our Summer Minister spoke of it in a sermon.
Storm I started my way into coffee hour by making one friend whom i chatted with every Sunday, it seemed forever, and gradually eased into making more acquaintances in a rather large congregation.
